Business Development Consultant ERP- Job Description:

Please note this is initially a temporary position to cover maternity leave (including handover) - March 2012 to June 2013. However with current growth plans it is hoped we will be in a position to make it permanent - but no guarantees

Overview

The Business Development Consultant will manage a portfolio of existing partnerships, building and maintaining strong relationships to gain an understanding of the complementary products and services they offer. By building and maintaining the partnerships you will develop opportunities to sell and promote the products and services being offered, all the while ensuring excellent customer service.

Given the varying size of the partnerships this role will be both field and office based.

Responsibilities of the Business Development Consultant ERP:

• Develop and maintain the partner programme
• Identify possible business partnerships of varying industry and size
• Work with the sales and technology departments to establish which software vendors we have worked alongside and develop partnerships in conjunction with them
• Work alongside senior management to develop high level contacts in market influencing organisations
• Work alongside the sales team to aid business partner development within their territories
• Manage the existing partnerships with a professional, friendly and knowledgeable face ensuring expectations are appropriately set and a first class level of customer service is maintained at all times
• Maintain regular, proactive contact with the existing partnerships to maximise the opportunities available to sell and promote products and services, ensuring that targets are exceeded
• Understand the products and services of our partners to identify any referral opportunities
• Be prepared to both visit business partners as well as develop relationships on the phone
• Generate an interest for our products and services promoting the features and benefits to our partners with conviction
• Continuously improve product knowledge
• Work alongside the marketing team to develop regular and informative campaigns
• Keep regular contact and full account records on our CRM system
• Update and report to the Sales & Marketing Director, including opportunities generated, pipeline activity, partnerships developed and marketing campaigns
• Maintain an appropriate awareness of and work effectively within the company policies and procedures.

Business Development Consultant ERP - Candidate Requirements:

Experience:

• Commercial experience working within the ERP software market sector and in a customer-supplier environment.
• 2-3 years experience in IT B2B sales.
• High degree of business, product and technical knowledge.
• Ability to identify, qualify and develop new opportunities.
• Target driven character and the will to succeed.
• The ability to build rapport in person as well as on the phone.
• The ability to drive their own initiatives.
• Degree qualified or equivalent.

Personal Qualities:

• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent presentation skills – to both prepare and deliver presentations.
• Good 'people skills' for building long lasting business relationships both internally and externally at all levels.
• Commercially aware.
• Takes responsibility and operates on own initiative.
• High degree of personal organisation and responsibility.
• Resourceful and flexible.

Additional

Business Development Consultant - ERP will be field based, self motivated, flexible and happy to travel throughout the UK.

Full UK driving licence essential.
