Technical Sales Manager

As the Technical Sales Manager your role will be to optimise sales volumes, margins and growth opportunities through a long term professional and proactive relationship with an existing customer portfolio and to research, identify and target new products, market sectors and customers in line with agreed business strategy and plans. This role requires a sales professional with a proven sales background in electron and optical microscopy, with a particular expertise in consumables, accessories and specialist preparation equipment. Candidates must be able to demonstrate success in developing and managing pan - European distributor networks

Technical Sales Manager Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
" Meet challenging business sales growth targets in line with the company's growth aspirations as well as increasing the spend of current client accounts
" Identify opportunities for moving existing products into new markets and initiating new product development.
" Identify and communicate opportunities for real change in key business processes and methodologies that will facilitate business growth in line with the requirements of our clients.
" Overall responsibility to develop and cement existing relationships with key accounts
" Provide technical and commercial data to channel partners, direct customers and sales networks
" Provide/write technical literature as required
" Attend relevant conferences and meetings
" Visit clients
" Answer technical queries from customers/distributors

The ideal candidate for the role of Technical Sales Manager will possess:
" A scientific degree, BSc, preferably a PhD or MSc.
" A proven sales background in electron and optical microscopy, with a particular expertise in consumables, accessories and specialist preparation equipment
" Experience in sample preparation for both materials and biological sciences
" Have used microscopy products in a laboratory environment
" Technical astuteness: being able to discuss client`s technical requirements in some depth, and provide resolutions to queries.
" A high level of professionalism, tenacity, a positive mental attitude, excellent negotiation skills and high levels of emotional intelligence.
" Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills are essential.
" Ideally fluent in a second language (French or German)
" Results oriented
" Ability to travel extensively
" Strong commercial acumen
