Health & Safety Officer

Our Client is a market leading and expanding national recycling company, dealing with independent and national caterers across the UK. Their customers range from local pubs independent restaurants and takeaways to national chains such as Burger King, Mitchells & Butlers and many others. They specialise in collecting used cooking oil and food waste, converting these waste streams into renewable fuel and energy.

They are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Officer to look after 3 used cooking oil processing plants. You will be based at Liverpool but covering sites in Newport and Southampton. Under the guidance of the Group Health & Safety Officer you will be co-ordinating all day to day H&S matters at the 3 sites including management of contractors, taking part in committee meetings, writing risk assessments and safe working procedures, accident investigations, organising training, purchasing PPE, ensuring staff are working safely and offering advice to managers on all aspects of health & safety.

The successful candidate must hold a NEBOSH General Certificate and a UK Driving licence. You must have proven experience in a similar role, ideally gained within a processing/industrial environment. You must be able to engage with people at all levels, have excellent communication skills, organised and able to work on your own initiative. Due to the locations covered the role will involve nights away on a weekly basis.
