Health and Safety Manager
Calling all Health and Safety Managers. A well established tour operator based in Kent is currently seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager. You will take responsibility for the management and implementation of overseas health, safety and emergency response policies throughout the business to maximise customer safety. The ideal candidate will have a good level of Health and Safety experience gained within tour operations at management resort level.
Responsibilities for Health and Safety Manager:
* Providing structured training on all aspects of health and safety according to company guidelines and codes of practice, ensuring resort personnel and owners/suppliers have the adequate skills, knowledge and support to accurately complete audits and inspections as directed.
*Managing the company health and safety database (PASS3) ensuring all property, excursion and transportation audits and checks, follow up actions and incidents are accurately recorded according to set timescales.
*Working with suppliers/contractors to achieve maximum return of completed health and safety audits from local owners/agents and resort staff to ensure policy compliance with company requirements.
*Taking a lead role in travelling to and auditing destinations / resorts, where the company do not currently have overseas representation.
*Taking an active role in overseeing Crisis Management ensuring escalation of incidents when required, and the on-going management of associated documentation, which should be understood by all relevant personnel.
*To provide management information, analysis and reports for Directors, the Senior Leadership Team and the wider group to include; escalated overseas incidents, direct feedback from customers, current internal/external challenges & risks and suggestions for improvements to working practises.
*Communicating with UK departments on overseas health and safety matters to maintain and improve the efficiency of the UK/resort operation.
*To plan, agree and monitor an annual Health and Safety budget alongside the Head of Overseas
Skills required for the role of Health and Safety Manager:
*Good knowledge of the travel industry with proven strong experience of H&S gained within tour operating (hotels, villas, apartment products).
*In-depth knowledge of overseas operations and working practices
*Knowledge of Crisis Management procedures
*Practical experience of conducting risk assessments
*Man- management experience
*Knowledge of PASS3 health and safety system
*Able to travel overseas frequently, sometimes at short notice/over weekends
*Willing to man 24hr emergency phone
