Procurement Manager

The Role

As a Procurement manager, you will own and manage a number of telecoms category groups and the relationship within these of the high spend / high risk suppliers at corporate or business unit level.

You will have direct responsibility for delivering the procurement strategy on nominated commodities and suppliers and will be dealing with individuals of all levels within the community, having frequent interaction with senior colleagues and suppliers.

The Telecoms Sourcing team operates in a demanding but challenging environment whose main objective is to deliver results and achieve success. This position requires an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who has procurement experience in a similar environment.

As a Procurement Manager your main responsibilities will involve:

• Drive the sourcing strategy for telecoms category spend.

• Manage senior level contact with a number of high profile telecoms suppliers positioned in the top 50 Fujitsu approved supplier list.

• Lead negotiations for telecoms Agreements for both Fujitsu and Fujitsu Client telecoms and network infrastructure.

• Cultivate relationships to support the development of core Solutions.

• Support Fujitsu bid teams and capability units as appropriate.

• Drive best value and cost reduction through benchmarking and regular price reviews with suppliers.

• Due diligence, contract management, dispute resolution for telecoms suppliers.

• Supplier relationship management and development of internal customer liaison.

• Regular reviews including quarterly business reviews and updates on supplier relationship progression.

• Regular business performance reviews; including score carding of key suppliers.

• Provide telecoms market intelligence.

• Ensure achievement of telecoms team savings and cost reduction targets

As a Procurement Manager your skills and qualifications will include:

• A good understanding of commercial principles e.g. understand margin calculators and overhead allocations. Awareness of market cost drivers. Analytical ability.

• Ability to build trust, to develop effective high level relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders (technical, operational, commercial, legal, financial, service) and to manage conflict constructively.

• Negotiate best market value against specification for all contracts managed.

• Experienced Procurement Professional with a strong background in this field.

• Works with guidance to identify underlying issues and to implement pragmatic and sustainable solutions consistent with Fujitsu policies and objectives.

• Ability to present complex ideas, to communicate effectively and to persuade through the use of approaches and styles appropriate to the outcomes required.

• MCIPS Qualified useful but not essential.
