The role focuses on carry out drafting of Wills and ancillary documents. Liaise with clients and third parties and provide advice where necessary.
It is essential to have good organisational skills, a flexible approach to work loads, excellent literacy and numeracy skills. Be an excellent team player who has the ability to work to deadlines and who has previous office experience.
Duties
• Drafting Wills and ancillary documents
o Accountable for the due diligence, all dealings with other lawyers and other legal aspects on private client transactions.
o Assess risk on every transaction by using skill to make pragmatic decisions and to ensure appropriate legal advice is given.
o Take responsibility for the quality of legal advice given on every private client transaction allocated to them.
o Ensure that all activities and tasks required to be completed are undertaken promptly and proactively, prioritising where appropriate and supports others to do likewise.
o Raise any complex issues with Senior Will Writer and if necessary refer Will to Senior Will Writer
• Ensure workflow through the case management system
o Dealing with incoming correspondence / emails / faxes
o Carrying out / creating tasks on OMS
o Taking phone calls, recording them on OMS and taking necessary action.
o Proactively progressing cases through OMS
• Communication
o Effectively communicate and ensure implementation of company policies and procedures, plans and principles
• Checking voicemail messages for absent Will Writers
o Logging calls to relevant matter and returning calls if appropriate.
o Seeking advice if necessary.
• File Checking
o When required check files of Will Writers for accuracy
• Other duties required for the role
