DEFINED BENEFIT/FINAL SALARY ADMINISTRATORS

Member Events Team -

Role and responsibilities

> Calculation, checking and communication of all member related benefits for early leavers, transfers in, transfers out, retirements, deaths etc

> Updating member records in relation to all above events

> Answering members' general enquiries via telephone, email and letter

> Ensure that all work is completed within Service Level Agreement (SLA)

> Quarterly reporting for trustee meetings

> Paying invoices

> Supporting scheme event team with ad hoc projects

> Monitoring of monthly controls (receipt of contributions, monthly cash flow, AVCs, GMP’s, cessation of bridging pens etc)

> Communication with client contacts

> Attendance at client meetings

> Liaising with client managers, actuaries and third parties

Skills and experience required:

Core - experience in the administration of defined benefit/final salary pension schemes, in particular all member-related calculations (early leavers, retirements transfers deaths etc) and a sound understanding of the pensions industry is required.

Be able to work under own initiative and deliver to agreed Service Levels, whilst maintaining a high standard of accuracy and quality.

Be familiar with Microsoft applications and how they interact together.

Have a good standard of general education (GCSE/A Level or equivalent) to include a high level of numeracy and literacy.

Good communication skills – face to face, on the telephone and in writing.

A good working knowledge of internal procedures, processes and operating principles.

Relevant experience with, and exposure to technical issues relating to pension scheme legislation.

Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of Data Protection, HMRC limits, and recent legislative changes.

WE ARE IDEALLY LOOKING FOR PEOPLE WITH EXPERIENCE OF THE ABOVE BUT WILL ALSO CONSIDER GOOD, STRONG ADMINISTRATORS WITHOUT DEFINED BENEFIT EXPERIENCE.
