Our client is a small to medium sized fitout and refurbishment contractor. They operate within London and throughout the South, they are well positioned to capitalise on further projects in these areas and enjoy repeat business from many of their clients. Their core business is mainly refurbishment and fitout on projects up to c£1.5m. They work in the commercial, leisure, healthcare and residential sectors. They have a substantial pipeline of work going forward into next year and are now seeking an experienced Senior Project Quantity Surveyor to join the team. You will be 90% project based and 100% focused on making a profit. You will need to be able to operate independently on site with a strong commercial focus providing accurate financial input to the project. More importantly, you should also have solid surveying experience across several sectors with good client facing skills and an ability to spot a business opportunity and develop it further.

• a fitout and refurbishment project to three floors of offices in Paddington
• several central London office restacks which have been carried out in the evenings and at weekends
• shell & core fitout for a casino, complex acoustic shell
• hotel work, IBIS, Novotel and Mandarin
• a high end residential strip out, refurbishment and fitout
• hospital ward refurbishments for a Surrey hospital
• the fitout of a central London business club
• high-end residential refurb and fitout to apartments in Chelsea
• they have also recently reconfigured meeting rooms and offices and established informal meeting areas along with installing specialist multi-coloured lighting in line with corporate branding - TMobile
• They have also refurbished a major oil companies staff dining rooms in a live environment without disrupting the service that it provides to over 3000 staff in its restaurant on a daily basis - Shell

Essential

• A sense of humour, keen to work hard and smart for personal gain
• Prepare valuations, update cash flows, CVR’s and MCR’s
• Update the site with cost related issues
• Agree subcontractor variations, process sub-contractors accounts, check work completion to Project Manager’s satisfaction, issue payment certification to accounts and notification to sub-contractors
• Agree final accounts with client
• Manage problems and avoid contractual disputes
• Identify and agree scope changes in the works
• Take off drawing, site measures, check/agree invoices
• Attend Client progress and site meetings
• Produce monthly management accounts

This is a challenging role in a fast track environment; you should be cool and capable of maintaining tight financial control of the contract. You will need to be flexible regarding work location at either their London satellite office or at the project location. This is a great opportunity for a commercially aware Senior QS to take complete responsibility for a number of fast track projects. You will have a stable career track record and an enviable track record of success with a history of generating profitable outcomes.
