Civil Engineering Estimator

The company is a specialist firm of construction cost engineers. They provide independent estimating services for contracting and client organisations delivering capital projects and programmes within the civil engineering field. They also provide leading cost estimating software and estimating training services.

Part of a Large Australian company with many International workstreams, they have been established in the UK since 2006. Due to their continued growth, they are now seeking to recruit a full time Estimator for their UK office in central Manchester.

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for the timely preparation of independent estimates for major infrastructure projects as well as a range of data analysis and cost engineering services. You will engage with our clients to advise estimated outturn costs and the “should cost” of proposed projects. You will also play a full part in the continuous improvement of our clients’, and our own, estimating services.

You will have a strong understanding of construction methods and good numerical skills. Commercially aware, you will be able to demonstrate success in a similar environment.

Skills & Experience

Sound knowledge of civil engineering construction
Strong numerical and data analysis skills
Commercial awareness
Preparation of cost estimates from first principles
Project management
Preparation of reports
Civil engineering contracting or engineering design with significant site experience
Planning and scheduling of construction works
Experience in the use of cost estimating software
