An experienced Buyer who has worked within the Food Industry (preferably chilled) is now required by this National Manufacturing Group.

The Role : GROUP BUYER

* Responsible for all aspects of factory and production purchasing including: raw materials, packaging, utilities, and services supplied to manufacturing operations
* Negotiate all supply contracts including some group purchasing
* Responsible for raw materials and packaging purchasing budget
* Source, assist, and select suppliers ensuring minimum standards are achieved
* Responsible for approx 20m of purchasing
* Initiate tender documents with an aim of securing best supplier rates
* Responsible for raw materials and packaging purchasing budget
* Report on KPI's within raw materials and purchasing departments
* Convert sales forecast into demands for raw materials and packaging lines
* Provide market knowledge and purchasing responsibilities, identifying any purchasing resources required

Skills / EXperience / Qualifications: GROUP BUYER

* Degree in Food or Packaging related subject
* 3-5 years purchasing experience
* Experience working in a Purchasing / Procurement environment within the food manufacturing industrial (fresh, chilled FMCG an advantage
* 2 years negotiating contracts
* Negotiating skills essential
* Auditing and technical qualifications beneficial
* IT literate
* Experience of purchasing tools and procedures
* Preparation and evaluation of tender documentation involving group contracts.
* Fully knowledgeable of legislative requirements relating to purchasing of Raw Materials and Packaging.
* CIPS an advantage
