Job Position: Buyer (Engines)

Reporting to: Category Manager

Job Status: Contract - initial 12 months

Role Purpose and Overview:

As part of the Purchased Engines Category, the successful candidate will be responsible for executing the future sourcing strategy and managing key strategic supplier relationships.

Working as part of a diverse extended team along with a variety of business unit requirements will challenge you to provide world-class levels of procurement performance adding significant value to the business.

Annual spend >$200M

Supplier Relationship Management

Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required:

Essential:

Experience is preferred in purchasing, sales, supply chain or manufacturing
Good negotiation skills with a capability to prepare, analyse and negotiate competently
Strong analytical, problem solving and project leadership skills.
Effective communicator, in both written and oral form. Fluent in English.
Well developed interpersonal skills to develop strong relationships with both process partners and global strategic suppliers.

Desirable:

Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply
'Engines' related purchasing experience
Strategic Sourcing
Demonstrated project managements skills

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities for the Buyer will include;

Development of a documented sourcing strategy for Category
Develop and maintain supplier relationships through structured agreements
Managing supplier performance through structured reviews
Optimisation of product costs through fact based negotiation

Key Relationships:

The role will require strong relationships formed with;

Strategic Suppliers
Global Purchasing teams globally

Salary/Rate: Up to £35 per hour (Ltd Co) depending upon experience
