Branch Managers - Carlisle (Kingstown Rd)

There are over 800 Carphone Warehouse stores here in the UK. They come in all shapes and sizes, so we need all kinds of people to run them. If you're still relatively new in your management career, you'll most likely be best suited to being Branch Manager in one of our smaller high street branches. At the other end of our real estate, we have our flagship stores in places like Westfield London. Instead of two people, you'll be managing a team of up to forty and measuring turnover and revenue in the tens of £millions.

No matter how big or small the store, we'll expect you to deliver the same outstanding experience to the customer - to inspire and to guide them to the product that will help improve their life. Salary and bonus

Salary - All Branch Manager's salaries are linked to their store and will be reviewed once each year.

Depending on the banding of the store you manage, your base salary and the bonus you can earn will vary. The base salary for each band of store is pulled from a range. On top of this there is the potential to earn a significant additional bonus, based on overall branch and team performance. Our focus on the customer means we have moved the predictors of our bonus from being purely financial, to including such elements as customer feedback.

Protecting your future

Pension - All of our employees are eligible to join one of our two Company pension schemes following successful completion of their probationary period.

Health and wellbeing

Private Medical Insurance - After successful completion of their probationary period, Employees are eligible to join the subsidised Private Medical Insurance scheme. Employees will be asked to contribute a nominal amount towards this via payroll deduction, the amount will vary depending on the level of cover chosen.

Critical Illness - Employees are covered by our Critical Illness scheme upon successful completion of their probationary period. This benefit is designed to pay out a lump sum of three times an employee's annual basic salary if they undergo a serious operation or suffer from a serious injury or illness, as defined by the scheme rules.

Childcare Vouchers - If employees have any children under the age of 16, Childcare vouchers are a great way of helping to cover the cost of their care. Over a year colleagues could save up to £1,000 in Tax and National Insurance relief

Time off (Time to put your feet up!)

Holiday - Inclusive of bank holidays, annual leave entitlement starts at 33 days (increasing with continuous service). If a colleague joins us mid-way through the year or works part-time, their holiday entitlement will be calculated on a pro-rata basis. The holiday year runs from 1 April until 31 March.
Ways of saying thank you

Birthdays - At Carphone Warehouse we want to make our employees feel special on their birthday, so guess what you never have to work your birthday! This is on top of your holiday entitlement. We also send you some chocolates to your home so that you know we think about all our employees on their special day.

Annual Ball - We like to celebrate our success and give all our employees the opportunity to celebrate with us. An annual ball is held every year. It is Europe's largest private party, hosting some of UK's most popular acts such as Tynchey Stryder, Jamiroquai, Will Young and many more.

Long Service Awards - We offer long service awards to thank employees for their loyalty and hard work ranging from 5 to 10 years, which include a luxurious hamper or a weekend away. Colleague Discount - Soon after joining the business, employees will receive a colleague discount card that can be used to purchase products in both Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy UK stores. Discounted Phone/Line Rental - We have some amazing deals with some of our networks who offer the opportunity for our employees, their family and friends to discounts on phones or line rental.

Training and Development

There's no substitute for experience. That's why most of your learning will be done on the job. Each day will bring fresh challenges. Whether you're engaging with a customer, team member or one of our suppliers, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to build new skills and refine existing ones.

That doesn't mean, however, we won't support your development. On the contrary, we'll put you through a personalised programme that will further enhance your skills. This programme will also help us address any areas that might benefit from added focus. Through a mixture of workshops, structured training programmes and one-to-one coaching sessions with your Regional General Manager, we'll make sure you have all the tools needed to flourish.

Line Management and Mentoring

The Regional General Managers (RGMs) are there to inspire, support and guide all of our Branch Managers. As well as ensuring you have all the knowledge and skills needed to do the job, they will coordinate every aspect of your development programme. You'll also have regular one-on-one sessions with your RGM to assess your performance.

If there are any areas that you need to work on, the RGM will seek to help you. This might involve you spending some time in Head Office, finding out how our operations work. Or it might involve going on an external training course on. Either way, your RGM will be your first port of call for all development and day-to-day operational issues, as you will be that first port of call for your in-store team of Consultants.
