Marketing/Business Development Manager- 35k + Car- Retail/Homeware

WJ Partners are recruiting exclusively for a Marketing Manager/Business Development Manager to work with a key client that designs and manufactures retail home products. The position is to develop their retail accounts and sell their in house design service into major retailers- I.e. Asda/Makro/BHS.

**I require someone with an eye/passion for design detail/creativity/flare. This person needs to have experience of selling an end product, you must come from a retail/home ware background, basically anywhere that has a range and where a customer has to make a choice.

We can look at different job titles for this position: Business Development Manager/Sales Manager/Key Account Manager/Buyer/Marketing Manager, but the role is heavily marketing focussed so please bear this is mind when applying.

Environment- This is not a typical field sales role with targets. The position needs someone to network with the clients/brands and develop relationships over a set period of time to win new contracts. The accounts are already there to be developed, the new products need placing into them to enhance the range they sell.

The sales aspects of the role are:

Understanding client’s needs and where best to pitch products into the gaps on their shelves
Pitching to new clients with designs/ideas
Booking meetings
Review accounts summary regularly
Identifying products to new clients to sell into
This is not a negotiation role as such as the factories will do this. The position is not specifically technical as trained engineers are in the team.

THE PERSON:

My client is a traditional engineering company so we need like-minded candidates to fit into this, although the sales and marketing is very modern.
Must be confident at pitching, measure people well and must have a flare for design ideas.
Team player that can contribute to team efforts and enjoys winning new business as part of the team. Although you will look after your own accounts the position is not about level of sales per person.

Travel-

Up to 3 trips a year for 2-3 weeks and sporadic UK and European trips for 1-4 days approx.

UK travel as and when- has autonomy to manage UK meetings.
