Service Development Manager - Troubled Families

Core Children Services provides a range of integrated services that are locally based to children and their families. Working in partnership with Local Authorities, Trusts, organisations and families throughout the UK, the services for children and families are designed to be flexible and meet the needs of customers, whilst maintaining the ethos of a truly child centred organisation.

The Service Development Manager will be instrumental in developing and co-ordinating a range of solution focused Social Care Services, designed to address the Government agenda of working with Troubled Families.

The post holder will assist the Core Children Services regions to develop the service offering in these areas and be responsible for the development and delivery of a service that will reduce the number of Troubled Families.

The successful applicant must hold either a Social Work Degree or equivalent relevant qualification status. Considerable experience of providing social care services to children and their families is essential as well as a good working knowledge of relevant legislation including the Children’s Act 1989; Working Together; Every Child Matters Agenda, Think Families; Early Intervention and Troubled Families agenda.

This is a really exciting opportunity that will allow you to be at the forefront of a dynamic family support service. This role will require you to work with a degree of autonomy and creativity, the ability to communicate at all levels, negotiate, mediate and build effective relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, alongside excellent reporting skills is paramount to this role.

Some of the primary tasks would include:-

- To lead, scope, plan and develop Core’s Children’s Services Social Care Services offer across the UK with particular focus on the ‘Troubled Families’ agenda.

- Liaise with Local Authorities, developing relationships to secure business opportunities where these exist to promote and provide services with a particular focus on ‘Troubled Families’.

- To develop the reputation of Core Children’s Services and the Core Assets Group of Companies as a provider of high quality social care, education and therapeutic services to Local Authorities and Voluntary Sector agencies.

Due to the nature of this role, a full driving licence is required, a company car will be provided.

The salary for this post is Up to £45,000 per annum plus company car and benefit scheme.
