Design Engineering Manager

Our client is looking to recruit a Design Engineering Manager to join their team who specialise in water and energy management mainly within the commercial market.

The role will include the following responsibilities:

You will build and manage the design department and new product development process from concept through to introduction. You will work with commercial and operations teams producing specifications for new products, both mechanical and electronic.

Hands-on design and project management from concept to completion.

Requirements:

You will have a good understanding of plastics, injection-moulding, basics of tool-making and ideally other materials, specifically brass.

Design in 3D CAD (Solidworks preferred, Solid Edge an advantage) and understand the relevant use of FEA, mould-flow analysis and other relevant modules.

Basic understanding of electronics concepts. Electronics experience desirable

Appreciation of importance of Industrial Design

The candidate will be degree qualified with experience in a relevant industry and consumer durables company with an understanding on fluid mechanics.

Experience of heading projects from concept through to completion.
