Projects Purchasing Specialist – CIPS qualified – avionics sector - experience of purchasing electronic devices and mechanical engineered parts - experience in the sourcing of potential suppliers from technical specifications – engineering qualification or background an asset -based Fareham – salary c£35K

We are looking for a CIPS qualified Projects Purchasing Specialist to provide the engineering department of an avionics company with tactical/strategic procurement support to meet engineering projects cost schedule, quality and delivery requirements.

Previous experience of purchasing electronic devices and mechanical engineered parts is essential as is experience in the sourcing of potential suppliers from technical specifications and in procurement in new product development or introduction within the avionic market sector

All candidates should be able to draft and negotiate contracts and purchase orders and have the ability to assess supplier capabilities to meet company needs and to produce progress reports for engineering and procurement departments

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Procurement Projects specialist’s day to day duties will include:

1. Supporting all engineering projects in sourcing appropriate suppliers for bespoke components, cost break down structures and preliminary BOM management.

2. Acting as the liaison between the engineering and purchasing department

3. Working with strategic procurement to identify, negotiate and optimise service level agreements

4. Raising and processing relevant documentation and drafting and negotiating contracts and purchase orders.

5. Maintaining engineering projects purchasing needs and ensuring MRP purchasing related data is accurate.

6. Attending meetings as required

7. Reporting to Purchasing and Project Managers on a weekly basis.

You should, therefore, be able to satisfy multiple internal customer demands and expectations and understand the commodity marketplace

Effective contract and negotiating skills are a must as is the ability to understand technical issues and represent these to suppliers and company

A CIPS qualification is a must and should either be accompanies with a HNC or degree in an Engineering discipline or significant experience in procurement related to product development within the avionics environment.

All candidates should have a current driving licence and be able to undertake travel both UK and overseas
