Our client require a principal engineer to undertake the lead discipline on assigned international power generation projects.
The successful candidate will be based in our clients offices in Camberley, Surrey
The key responsibilities of the candidate will be to undertake engineering supervision and therefore responsible for the electrical power engineering and design of power generation facilities. They will develops detailed equipment specifications for electrical equipment such as main power transformers, switchgear, motor control centres etc.
The candidate will be required to prepare electrical equipment and bulk quantity estimates for proposals as well as reviewing supplier drawings for information relative to design of facilities. They will provide construction and commissioning support with the occasional site visit. This position will require occasional travel and potential for planned and unplanned overtime to meet project schedules.
The candidate will require significant European work related experience in:
(1) Power plant electrical power systems
(2) Power plant electrical equipment
(3) Engineering work processes
(4) Solid power generation engineering experience in the design of fossil fuel power plants (coal, combined cycle gas turbine - 400MW to 800MW per unit)
We welcome applications from candidates who have considerable experience within other highly regulated industries.
They will hold a BSc. in Electrical Engineering (or related) degree required and be a chartered member of a relevant association. They will show the ability to prepare and present technical and marketing presentations related to electrical power systems. They must be proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, and use of computers and be a self-starter, highly motivated, and able to handle stress, feedback and criticism effectively.
The successful candidate must also be able to:
