An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the growing Honeywell Analytics Regulatory Compliance Team as a Regulatory Compliance Engineer. We are looking for a high performing individual looking to use their considerable knowledge in Safety Related Product Certifications and Approvals.
The role is located in Poole, Dorset with some travel to EMEA as and when required.
The aim of this team is to achieve true competitive advantage from Regulatory excellence.
Expert knowledge and effective delivery of regulatory objectives is the cornerstone of the company’s strategy for future growth in its core gas detection business. The Regulatory Centre of Excellence provides internal advice and consultancy on standards in design and manufacture, presents a consistent interface to the third party approval agencies and drives those agencies to complete approvals in the agreed timescales.
The team are a Centre of Excellence for product and process compliance with a wide range of regulatory objectives for fixed and portable toxic and flammable gas detection including worldwide Product Safety and Performance Approvals, Hazardous Area Approvals, Electrical Safety, CE Marking, EMC, LVD, WEEE, Machinery and other EC Directive compliance. The team operate across all functional boundaries e.g. Sales, Marketing, Technology, Manufacturing, Quality etc and throughout the whole product life cycle from concept to obsolescence.
The opportunity is a pro-active and hands-on role, within the Honeywell Gas Detection (HGD) EMEAI Regulatory Compliance Team. Working individually, or as part of a team on larger projects, to deliver rapid first time product certification and to ensure ongoing compliance throughout the product life cycle. Also providing guidance to internal teams on all matters related to product certifications and approvals.
Responsibilities include:
•Relationship building with Regulatory Agencies & supporting product certification and compliance as the company’s interface to the external agencies.
•Representing the Regulatory Function in multi-disciplined project teams to develop new products.
•Monitoring and maintenance of existing product and process approvals to ensure they remain in compliance with prevailing standards at all times.
•Regulatory review and approval of Concessions (production deviations), Engineering Changes etc.
•Being the certification subject matter expert supporting all parts of the business, providing training and knowledge sharing as required to create competitive advantage.
•Carrying out product / process compliance internal audits.
•Hosting third party accreditation audits presenting an open professional company front.
•Proposing and championing appropriate tools and metrics to drive the regulatory function forward (e.g. approval timescale reduction, process audits, standard work, lean etc.)
Technical Skills & Specific Knowledge Required
•Expert knowledge of Regulatory Standards for Fire and Gas (e.g. EC Directives, ATEX, IECEx, UL1203, C22.2, EN60079, SIL etc).
•Degree in an Engineering related subject
•Basic understanding of the operation and use of Fire and Gas detection
•Good project planning and time management skills
•Audit experience to EN13980 or similar management systems standard
•Excellent PC skills in MS Office (Outlook, Excel and Word)
