Environment, Health and Safety Manager

A leading food manufacturing based in Yorkshire, dealing with a number of highly recognised brands across the UK and Europe, are currently looking for an Environment, Health & Safety Manager. The company prides itself in leading the way in new technology & methods across its factory & distribution sites in the UK.
You will be responsible for ensuring the continued development of these methods and ensure full compliance across the UK sites.
Main Activities
- Ensure all management systems for health, safety and environment are fully maintained, risks and trends identified and all appropriate action taken, to ensure legal compliance as a minimum.
- Year on Year improvement in accident rate, severity rates and combined RIDDOR & LTA rates, and provide case management for claims through insurers
- Work proactively with the Occupational Health team, in areas of absence and accident management /return to work /rehabilitation programs
- Play an active role in Arla Amba’s corporate Health and Safety, and Environmental Focus Groups forums, identifying steps required to implement overall strategies across the UK business.
- Maintain, and where appropriate improve, accreditation against relevant internal and external audit standards, e.g. ISO14001
- Develop Health and Wellness KPI's, in line with the national steering group
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree educated, engineering or environmental science equivalent
- Ability to guide and influence the agenda at all levels
- Knowledge of legal/working requirements of Health & Safety at Work, ISO 14001
- Recognized safety qualification i.e. N.E.B.O.S.H diploma
- Ability to coach and support others to ensure requirements understood/met
