Laboratory Technician - West London
£13,000 to £15,000 (Depending on Experience) + £4,500 Shift Allowance


Do you have experience working in a chemistry lab?

Would you like to work for a global organisation and leader in analytical and measurement sciences?


Reporting to the lab manager, you will work as part of a diverse team generating crude oil assays in a challenging and ever-changing environment. This position requires working on a rolling shift basis, Monday to Friday, alternating week on week between day and night shifts.


The position involves:

* Routine distilling and analysing of crude oil samples and products
* Helping to develop processes to further enhance the capabilities of the laboratory
* Providing support in aviation fuel analysis (may involve occasional weekend work paid at over time rates)
* Helping to maintain the highest levels of quality in a busy laboratory environment



Full training will be provided but the following qualifications / experience are essential:

* A-levels, HNC, HND or BSc (or equivalent experience) within a relevant scientific discipline or experience of working in a laboratory environment
* Fluent in written and spoken English
* IT literate in e.g. Word, Excel & Outlook
* Experience in making and recording measurements
* Good manual dexterity
* A practical and responsible approach to problem solving
* Must be able to work alone and as part of an inter-dependent team
* Be able to work to tight deadlines
* Knowledge of oil / petrochemical products and / or processes would be a distinct advantage but is not essential
