Principal Consultant Systems Engineer required for this small, fast-growing systems engineering consultancy who are independent and impartial providers of systems engineering and engineering science to the Defence and Aerospace business sectors. They are a rapidly growing force at the heart of systems engineering in both the commercial and military aircraft industries, particularly in the areas of Landing Gear, Fuel Systems and Unmanned Air Vehicles.

Job Requirements
The role is acting as our highest level consultant and is a customer facing role. You will advise clients and take responsibility for elements of delivery of their programmes to meet or exceed customer expectations. You will be able and willing to apply yourself to a very wide range of domains and types of client. Current domains include armoured vehicles, battlespace communications and information systems, complex weapons and civil aircraft systems. Clients include MOD and industrial prime contractors. The common threads are systems engineering and complex programmes. Assignments can vary from fast response problem resolution through to long term relationships with a particular programme/client. You will also be a technical assurer and manager of work conducted by other staff. Details
The Principal Consultant Systems Engineer will be able to provide evidence of being a highly competent engineer, a team player with a delivery focus. You will have considerable experience as a systems engineering practitioner in industry. You will have operated at Chief Engineer, Chief Systems Engineer or similar level, key to the delivery of complex programmes, and will be looking for a new challenge as a consultant. You will have a good degree in engineering, mathematics or physics. You will probably have worked in Defence or Aerospace but may come from a different background which involves exercising technical and programme judgements in a complex systems development environment - telecommunications, railways, information systems or air traffic services, for example. You will be an excellent communicator of ideas and concepts, in writing, in presentations, in meetings and in one-to-one conversations.
