A Historic Buildings Education Officer is required for the Built Environment Branch, they are looking for an organised and enthusiastic individual to develop and co-ordinate a range of traditional buildings skills courses and seminars aimed at a variety of audiences, including homeowners and specialist builders.

The courses are an important part of Built Environment Branch’s activities in ensuring that we maintain our historic environment. The post holder will work closely with team members to develop the programme of events and to promote the courses through a variety of means.
You will have experience in organising events, administration and have good people skills. The project is self funded by income received for the courses and the post holder will manage that budget. The job will involve working flexibly to set up the course days, which includes moving equipment and furniture and working occasional weekends.
The duties of this job require the post holder to travel throughout an operational area. Therefore a valid driving licence and use of car (as well as valid vehicle business insurance) is required unless the role can be undertaken effectively by other alternative transport arrangements. For applicants with a disability as defined by the Disability Discrimination Act the scope for reasonable adjustments will be explored with them as part of the selection process. We will also encourage the post holder to take the ECC minibus driver test.
