Social Worker - Standard
Children's Social Care

£18-21 per hour PAYE or Limited rate
Contract to end of May 2010



We are a recruitment company and we have a number of positions across London and the South East in the social care sector. This position is a Standard Social Worker position within Children Social Care. Candidates must have post qualification experience in children and Court work essential.

To work as a member of a Children and Families Social Work Team providing a child-focused service to children, young people, their parents and carers. Caseloads will depend upon experience, grade of post and complexity of cases.

Skills

Knowledge of child care legislation
Ability to analyse complex situations
Good communication skills: written, verbal and listening
Knowledge of issues involved in working with children with disabilities
Child Protection and risk analysis skills.

Knowledge

Demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to, working within an equal opportunities framework.
Knowledge and understanding of children social care.
Ability to make use of management systems including IT in recording, retrieval and analysis of information.

Experience

Experience of work with children and families which includes assessments and statutory work.
Experience of multi-disciplinary inter-agency basis and ability to negotiate on behalf of service users
Experience of child protection work.
Experience of court work.

Qualifications

CQSW, Diploma in Social Work, CSS or equiv. GSCC registered.
