Purpose of the Job
The Customer Support Engineer acts as the customer's first point of contact at their Corporation on all issues relating to in-service aircraft. Shipping Clerk (Maternity Cover)
Purpose of the Job
To carry out shipping activities and to maintain a high standard of service for all external customers and global repair shops whilst complying to the requirements of UK Customs Regulations.
Responsibilities and Key Tasks
- Manage the movement of products/equipment/materials out of the country in accordance with organizational policy and procedure, and to comply with relevant local, country and international law and process.
- Manage the necessary documentation and online forms for the efficient, cost-effective and lawful execution of all export activities.
- Maintain and share with colleagues personal knowledge of all relevant procedures; tariffs and duties; and restrictions and train colleagues as appropriate.
- Communicate with the internal Customs Compliance team, and customers in all relevant territories and countries, as necessary to ensure efficient, positive and lawful relations, support and activities.
- Liaise with other departments in order to establish and maintain effective and relevant export activities and support in relation to the organization overall operating functions.
- Use personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in export activity and procedures.
- Monitor, record, analyse and report on activities, trends, results and recommendations relating to export activities.
- Maintain personal ability in, and appropriate use of, all relevant ICT (Information & Communications Technology) and other systems within the import/export function.
- Prepare and submit relevant administration in a timely and accurate manner, for example: shipping documents; declarations; routing, transport and safety documentation.
- Plan and implement effective and relevant transport methods, which meet optimally the needs of the organization and its suppliers and customers.
- Plan and manage the effective and necessary conversion of weights, sizes,
values, and quality standards interpretations between and exporting systems and territories.
General:
- Responsible for own Health & Safety, ensuring a safe working environment for self and colleagues in line with clients Health & Safety Policy.
- Undertakes any other duties in line with the basic objectives of the post and as directed by the Supervisor. This may include covering for other members of the Department as required.
Skills and Attributes
- Excellent customer care skills
- Good communication skills both verbal and in writing
- Numerate with solid knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
- Working knowledge of import/export and Customs procedure
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and confidently handle own workload
- Flexible and adaptable
