The Job

The function of the Service Engineer is to provide high quality after sales support to the company's customers. Customers are located around the country being mainly at NDA sites, Ministry of Defence, other government establishments and hospitals/universities. In addition there may be a requirement to travel outside the UK to provide training and, on occasions, service support.

• pre-delivery inspection, installation, commissioning record keeping and operation training of the company’s equipment
• customer care, including repair and Preventive Maintenance on existing equipment
• preparing and improving the Pre-Delivery Inspection, Installation, Commissioning and Customer Acceptance procedures.
• You will also be required to take on additional key duties to allow our client to achieve and maintain impeccable customer care. These include:
• providing out of hours cover for their Emergency Call Out Scheme customers
• prioritising requests to ensure contract response times are met
• site project leader role on specific installations
• The successful applicant will be required to undertake a full Government Clearance Check

Experience

• Educated to graduate level (or equivalent) and ideally an experienced Engineer.
• The company are also interested to hear from recently qualified candidates with an HNC/BSc in Electronics Engineering.

Job Description

•             Drive and support Quality System Improvements and APQP process implementation on high risk and/or new suppliers

•             Achieve a consistent high level of PPAP submission and quality performance with all plants.

•             Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering and Manufacturing on the supplier leverage activities and support Program Management

Experience

•             Experience in supply chain management/development activities

•             Experience in plant operations

•             Project management experience (preferred)

•             Quality Certification (CQA/CQE) or EOQ Quality System Manager (preferred)

•             Expertise in problem solving methodology and problem eradication

•             Experience with quality system implementation

•             Knowledge in Continuous Improvement methodologies

•             Proficient computer skills in MS Office Programs, Internet, Email

•             Knowledge of main corporate procedure linked to Supplier quality

•             Be able to diplomatically manage objectives and at the same time be persuasive and assertive in meeting objectives to timelines

•             Confident to play a management role at suppliers’ level

•             Be fluent in English, both oral and written (and preferably in other language(s) used in geographic area of responsibility)

•             Bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent

•             Auditor accreditation for system and process

•             Knowledge of main automotive quality management system: TS 16949 and quality tools (AIAG, FMEA, PPAP, MSA, SPC, APQP)
