Their Procurement organization is responsible for the procurement of complex, high value aircraft systems. The requirement is for a Contracts Commercial Manager to ensure and maintain commercial and contractual integrity of contracts for Landing Gear/ Landing Gear Systems development, supply and support.
The team is responsible for managing a network of a large number of suppliers across the globe, including within Europe, the USA and Japan. Responsibilities of the team include, cost reduction initiatives, mitigating commercial risk and on-going contract management, negotiating new terms and conditions as required. The main activities for the role can be classified in the broad categories; price /cost reduction, supplier selection and contract implementation. The post is within a team of 10 and the commercial leader will have management responsibility for two employees.
The Commercial Manager will lead projects within the cross business commodity team and lead the sourcing process for new requirements. There will be extensive negotiation skills required across a variety of new and renewing contracts. The post holder will be responsible for the management of all contracts within the commodity, maintaining contractual integrity whilst protecting the clients' position. Success will be evaluated in terms of supplier selection, recurring cost objectives being met, continuous improvement targets achieved and having all contracts maintained with relevant business terms.
To be suitable for this position, candidates will have proven commercial management skills, and be able to demonstrate the capability for negotiation of contractual documents and commercial agreements. You will have proven influencing skills, background knowledge in commercial law and demonstrate experience in leading cost reduction from supply chains. Also candidates should be experienced in dispute negotiation with suppliers, bid and tender activities and supplier management and selection.

The Weapon Systems Design Engineer responsibilities will include: Carry out a full range of technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options and prepare reports with suggested recommendations to support the resolution of problems and/or the development of engineering capability, individually or as a member of a project team. Mechanical Engineer - Design, Opto-mechanical, Electromechanical, Mechanical Design, Solidworks. They are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer for their site in Southampton. The role will involve proposing conceptual designs and assessing technical viability, selecting and specifying materials and documenting designs and processes so that they can be manufactured, tested and inspected. You will be investigating and resolving problems and failures and identifying & proposing improvements to product & process performance, reliability and cost. To be considered for this role, applicants will need to be qualified to Degree level or equivalent in a mechanical engineering discipline with solid experience in the design of integrated opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies or equivalent product with knowledge of manufacturing techniques appropriate to small batch production. Previous experience is likely to be in an engineering role related to the scientific sector, working to micron tolerances etc., with experience in the design of smaller components that go into larger systems/products. It is possible that you will have worked in the aerospace, defence or electronics sectors. Knowledge of vacuum chambers would be beneficial, as would knowledge of the design of machined parts (rather than moulded or welded products), so tooling design experience would be useful (e.g. jigs and fixtures). Due to an expanding workload they have an opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer to join the Capital Delivery Solutions team based in Epsom, Surrey.
