Leading project management organisation are seeking a Wayleave Warden to work on National Grid projects throughout the UK.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will be accountable to the Operations Manager and be responsible for:
• Liaise with the Client’s Wayleave Officer, visiting every site accompanied by the Engineer and General Foreman to confirm land take areas, access to work positions and towers and produce an Access Development schedule
• Identify and mark any services taking information from drawings, markers, third party information and appropriate ground scanning techniques. Assist with the production of Risk Assessments for access routes and working areas
• Install demarcation of agreed working areas, access routes, GS6 barriers and F10 boards
• Monitor and maintain all biological precautions stipulated in the access requirements and ensure our operations adhere to agricultural best practice
• Arrange with Local Authorities, Highways Agency, Police etc where road/footpath closures or restrictions may be required. Obtain any necessary waterway access agreements with British Waterways, Port Authorities and Internal Drainage Boards. Obtain any Planning Permissions for new accesses to Public Highways and any widening of existing gateways
• Liaise with the environmental advisors to review and ensure mitigation for SSSI, flora and fauna, archaeological impacts etc. are in place
• Supervise access development contractors ensuring their people are competent, their plant is suitable and well maintained and all work is covered by approved Risk Assessments and Method Statements
• Review all method statements and risk assessments that are specific to Wayleave activities
• Attend the weekly safety and progress meeting with the Client ensuring the 3 week look-ahead programme and progress reports are complete
• Receive, review, issue and continually control all project drawings.
• Monitor progress against the program for the construction works and produce regular progress reports
• Review QA documentation with the Client and sign off on notifications and hold points.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Excellent planning skills
• Demonstrated successful capability in people management
• Good knowledge of National Grid Electricity Safety Rules
• Substantial site management experience
• Relevant Engineering qualification is desirable
• NEBOSH/Safety Management qualification
