You will be qualified to HND/HNC level (Degree level preferable) within an engineering discipline and have a sound engineering background. You will have a comprehensive knowledge of bid / tendering processes with experience of people management. Applicants for the Bid Manager role should have a background in the rail industry and possess knowledge of issues affecting rolling stock, maintenance & renovation proposals. Applicants for the Tendering Manager role will preferably have knowledge of the power industry, ideally covering steam & gas turbines & generators. You must also hold a full driving licence as there would be frequent travel within the UK.

Global Power specialist are currently looking for a Quality Control Technician to be based at their Rugby workshop.
Your main remit will be to undertake product inspections, conducting product and process audits both internally and with suppliers. In addition you will calibrate specialised inspection equipment (teron gauges, root blocks, root gauges) & conduct non-destructive examination (NDE) for example magnetic particle examination, dye-en, metascop.
You should be time served & qualified to NVQ/ONC level in an engineering discipline and have experience working at a similar level in a quality role. You will possess a sound understanding of quality systems, standards and procedures, the ability to carry out NDE would be an advantage, along with knowledge of steam turbine products and parts.

The Role
The successful Discipline / Electrical Design Engineer will be a member of the Contracts and Procurement Team, delivering contract administration and/or procurement services over the whole asset lifecycle to meet the needs of our clients business and procurement objectives.
The Discipline / Electrical Design Engineer will be in charge of developing and maintaining effective business relationships with contractors and suppliers.
The Planning and managing tender actions include:
· Preparation of procurement plan
· Tender selection
· Preparation of tender documents, inviting tenders, contracts and orders
· Evaluating tenders & negotiating with short listed tenderer
The successful Discipline / Electrical Design Engineer will evaluate supplier performance through site visits and relevant reports, record and respond to contractors early warnings and review and value payment applications and certify payments to be made.
Desirable Experience and Qualifications
· A member of CIPS, RICS or equivalent business related qualification and be educated to degree level or equivalent standard
· Have demonstrable and proven experience within the procurement/contract management function in a range of construction / service oriented areas
· Be able to comprehend technical and complex specification requirements and translate those into commercially viable contractual documents
· Demonstrable and proven knowledge and experience of the supplier market and the effective application of value for money strategies and solutions
