This position is initially for a role in the MCU application team. The MCU is the biggest product both in terms of complexity and sales. The successful candidate for this job will be the type of person who thinks nothing of writing an embedded web-server one day and reverse engineer a streaming protocol the next. Working with a large and complex existing code base is an integral part of this job. You must also be comfortable with a variety of embedded platforms and know how to write cross-platform code. You will be expected to produce and deliver significant features on your own as well as work with colleagues in collaborative tasks. You will be called upon to deliver timing estimates for implementation and assess risks involved.

Main duties and responsibilities
• Programming in C and C++.
• Involvement in the specification, design and implementation of new products and features.
• Architectural and system design of applications in an embedded or server environment.
• Work closely with the test and support teams to ensure and maintain the quality of the products.
• Assisting other groups (manufacturing/documentation etc) with the tasks they need to complete in order to ensure products are ready for shipment.

Mandatory skills and experience
British educated candidates must have achieved at least A, A, B at A level (and ideally straight A grades) plus a 2i or 1st class honours degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science or Maths, from one of the UK's top universities. Those educated outside the UK need to have achieved the same standard.
• Strong C/C++ programming, multithreaded/event driven software
• Familiar with the issues associated with developing software targeted at devices constrained by limited power and memory; typically embedded applications.
• Network programming (for example; TCP/IP, streaming protocols, XTTP or RTP)
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.

Experience - Essential: Successful management of a technical department within a comparable production environment – fabrication of ferrous/ non ferrous machining, joining and assembly. Experience of new product design and development especially with components and systems that involve heat transfer e.g. radiators, charge coolers and heat exchangers. Knowledge of vehicle air conditioning systems. Exposure to hydraulics as used in power drives and low voltage DC for powering/ controlling automotive systems. Knowledge of military projects and the certification and test standards e.g. EMI/ RFI. Use of analytical tools FMEA/ CFD/ FEA and understanding the requirements of ISO9001. Experienced and capable user of AutoCAD 2D drawing and 3D modelling (solid edge or equivalent) together with MS Office/ Outlook/ Project.

Job Location : South Korea for training and orientation (6 months) and Kuwait (actual deployment).The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors in Engineering Degree: (Instrumentations and Control / Electrical Engineering) together with significant work experience in a power plant / desalination plant/ oil and gas plant / refinery or steel plant. With full knowledge of the RO process (Reverse Osmosis) , its description and functional description. Be able to Understand the package system supplier's logic and closed loop diagrams. Strong coordination capabilities in Piping and I & C suppliers and clients. To work for a large scale RO plant project in Kuwait. To conduct logic and closed loop diagram review and verification with regards to existing functional description of the RO process. To review and check DCS functional diagram (Honeywell generated) To provide technical coordination for I & C with suppliers and clients. To provide technical consultation for I & C general engineering at main office and I & C works at the site. To provide solutions by coordinating with process and DCS engineers during site commissioning.Benefits- Salary is negotiable (USD 4,000 – USD 6,000 per month) Free accommodation and meals in site. Workman's insurance compensation as required by Kuwait Labor Law. Paid vacation leave after 1 year of service (30 days – subject to approval by the Site Manager and depending upon the workload) 1 Economy ticket to home country during annual vacation leave.
