Principal Accountabilities: Duties: Ensuring that all technical staff working under their supervision carry-out their duties in a safe and proper manner and in accordance with the relevant maintenance manuals, provided documentation and the Company exposition. To act as an Inspector with a company approval to carry out verification checks / inspections in accordance with AiM Job cards and FSTA procedures. To raise observations on non-compliant work and initiate the HNC process with Production Engineering. To be particularly responsible for the tasks areas of aircraft allocated to their control by his/her SLAE/LAE or Crew Chief. Al tasks are carried out in accordance with the Client Procedures and processes. Assist with the ground movements of aircraft assigned to them by their SLAE/LAE. Recommending, in conjunction with their SLAE/LAE or Crew Chief the nature, content, and priority of non-stock stores demands. To report all safety/disciplinary matters to their SLAE/LAE. Requisitioning engineers in conjunction with their SLAE/LAE or Crew Chief of other disciplines to an aircraft as required and to co-ordinate them into the activity. Assist the SLAE/LAE for trades engaged in work on an area of the aircraft he has been allocated. Assist the SLAE/LAE defining, co-ordinating and being present at all occasions requiring systems and/or engine ground run functional testing of aircraft systems. You will have a formalised Aircraft Engineering Training or a recognised apprenticeship within aviation. Hold an EASA ‘A’ Licence and have a full understanding of A-M additional Requirements.

You will have served an Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship or Service Equivalent. Have held a supervisory position. Be able to effectively manage staff allocated to him in SLAE/LAE’s absence. Have experience of Structural / Electrical modifications and Scheduling Maintenance.

Qualifications:

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Procurement

In conjunction with Senior Management of the Company:

a) Devising a procurement and material control strategy which reduces “total cost of ownership”. This includes devising and implementing strategy/policy/procedures for determining place of manufacture (UK or Far East).
b) Negotiation of best prices. Reduction of material cost and other associated overheads. Report on savings made.
c) Select and monitor good reliable cost competitive suppliers and maintain approved suppliers list.
d) Improve systems and procedures for procurement and material control.
e) Oversee the daily running of the MRP and ensure materials are purchased in good time to meet customer requirements.

2. Purchase Order Processing/Suppliers Liaison

a) Manage the order process: placement of orders on suppliers: scheduling, stocking etc
b) Identify and monitor shortages. Progressing and chasing Suppliers to ensure deliveries on promised times.
c) Reducing supplier lead times.
d) Updating confirmations and amendments from Suppliers.
e) Buy Price – update and maintain.
f) Maintaining control on the frequency of shipment from Suppliers and fixing the times in the month. This will require regular updates and supplier interaction.
g) Filing – Purchase Orders, Confirmations and Amendments.
h) Arranging collection of goods from suppliers.
i) Develop supplier relationships.
j) Returns to Suppliers – initiate, monitor and control to completion.

3. Stock/Material Control

a) Create new part numbers, update and maintain existing part numbers.
b) Stock – Control and regulate to optimise levels and to achieve 6 stock turns per year.
c) Minimise stock wastage and obsolescence.
d) Stock Discrepancy – Investigate and resolve.

4. Sourcing

a) Identify appropriate suppliers.
b) Obtain component prices for new quotations in a timely manner.
c) Negotiate lead times and carriage costs.

5. Freight Forwarding

a) Ensuring that HCA receives optimum service from FF at competitive prices.
b) Investigate, locate and negotiate contracts with FF.
c) Interface with Suppliers & FF as required.

6. Quality

a) Recording and progressing of all received materials that do not comply with specification.
