Position: Managing Director Company: Leading Architectural Firm in The MENA Region Location: Abu Dhabi Salary/Package: £160,000 - £200,000 plus you will receive 20% Profit Share from MENA Region at the end of Year 1
My cleint is a global architectural and engineering business with their MENA Head Quarters in Abu Dhabi. They have grown organically over the last 3 years to becoming a leading practice in the region. The main aspiration is to continue to grow and develop organically and to develop new business centres in the Far East.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Managing Director, MENA serves in primarily a rainmaker capacity and is one of several solution architects in the business responsible for cultivating client relationships, driving new business in the Middle East, and serving as a leader in the global business. From the Middle East the role will extend to growing business in the Far East and China. The Managing Director is responsible for building the organisations brand, presence and revenue internationally, building on a strong presence in Middle East, UK, Ireland and Central Europe. This is an individual contributor role for a client-centric, business driven executive who has an Architectural or Consultancy background, comfortable engaging with peer-to-peer discussion about client and industry issues, who can identify needs and pain points and translate them into opportunities, consulting projects and syndicated service offerings that support these decision-makers. This individual should aspire and strive for a larger international role over time. The individual needs to have strong experience in building the staff infrastructure to service major construction projects across the region, including the selection and support of administrative, accounts and technical positions. Responsible for the company's P&L, a full understanding and ability to interrogate the management accounts is required, reporting to the CEO who has a hands-on role in the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Set, meet and exceed revenue plans for Middle East markets. Grow the business and act as overall champion for all services and capabilities. * Be actively engaged with the market to drive business into my client and over time chair councils in the region. * Understand client needs and requirements. * Work with Business Development Specialist team members as necessary to advance new business. * Make handoffs to internal consulting and analyst teams to support the delivery of services and consulting engagements. Act as executive sponsor and provide ongoing guidance to project teams to ensure successful execution on solutions designed and proposed by architect. * Be proactive in lead generation, follow-up with new business and up-sell/cross-sell opportunities with existing clients, and close new and renewal business. Lead, direct, and provide guidance on all aspects of projects including scoping and architecting proposals, designing research plans, assigning resources, and act as a peer review for proposals and projects delivered as needed. * Be a thought-leader for the delivery of key strategic projects and client relationships and serve as an individual contributor on occasional projects. Consistently deliver, delight and WOW clients. * Be a leader on the architect team and actively participate on the product and delivery team to address synergies, new offering ideas, share client feedback, and the exchange information that advances the larger business. Be a collaborative and accountable team member, excellent can-do leader, and active visible member of the team and company leadership. * Serve as a leader in the information and publishing market, network with industry leaders, be active at industry conferences and represent my client's market expertise at leading industry events-maintain visibility in the market. Be conversant in all major segments of the industry and understand methodologies and approaches used by the firm.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
* 15+ years experience in the Architectural/Consultancy industry. * Candidate must have strong property and construction industry, marketing, and technical knowledge, have strong relationships in the Middle East and Europe, and be visible in the market my client serves. Must have excellent in-depth understanding and knowledge of at least one information industry segment and its players, issues, and trends. * Demonstrated track record in driving revenue, identifying problems, visualizing and modelling solutions at a senior level, and influencing and serving as a solution champion both internally and externally with prospects. * Must be a proven leader * Outstanding communication skills both oral and written. * A self-starter with proven experience working in fast-changing, entrepreneurial environments. Ability to take action quickly, efficiently and effectively essential. Comfortable with and exceeds in agile, fast-paced organizations and comfortable with virtual working environments. * Highly organized, with demonstrated experience solving problems quickly and creatively. Understands and drives for improvements. * Experience in the consulting industry in a revenue generating position or partner capacity preferred. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential, and experience in communicating knowledge through these programs is critical. * MBA or equivalent degree required.
SALARY AND PACKAGE
This is negotiable although you will receive 20% Profit Share from MENA Region at the end of Year 1
