looking for a Building Services Engineer to provide Mechanical Engineering design input.
Responsibilities Perform detailed design of mechanical engineering services schemes from initial client brief to final handover to Client. Provide performance specifications (Employers Requirements) for D&B and Sprinkler Projects. Have an awareness of Asbestos Management Carry out option appraisals, feasibility, condition survey and other specialist technical reports for mechanical engineering services installations Preparation of tender documents, including design drawings and technical specifications for major new build projects, minor works and maintenance refurbishment works for mechanical engineering services schemes Act as Contract Administrator (CA) on mechanical engineering services projects to include the preparation of pricing schedules, pre-tender estimates, tender reports, certification of stage payments, practical completion and making good of defects. Maintain project files with all relevant documentation in accordance with commission Service Agreement Take responsibility for personal development and take part in a programme of structured continuing professional development

(c) Operational * Ensure all helpdesk and office calls are answered in a timely, professional and polite manner and that all procedures are followed. * Ensure that the helpdesk/admin team process all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) into Engineers schedules at least 1 week in advance within agreed service levels. * Programme any reactive or emergency works within agreed service levels. * Ensure that all reporting requirements are completed such as monthly reports to the Operations Director and weekly updates relating to the helpdesk/administration function. * Responsible for the effective management of the 24 hour emergency call out function and our service partner - ensuring that all information is correct and that the process is followed both by the call out engineers and also by our service partner. * To manage our service partners and ensure all activity is monitored in line with agreed SLA's. * Resolve daily issues of a complex scope that impact on the team and overall business objectives.

My client is seeking a senior software engineer with specialized skills in cloud computing, server virtualization, and open-source development to join a new team dedicated to the support of open-source cloud infrastructure.
This team is responsible for improving my client's support for open-source cloud infrastructure. In particular, we work to improve the integration between the Company's server virtualisation platform and the open-source communities with which it interacts: OpenStack, Apache CloudStack, and the Linux distros such as Debian, Ubuntu, and Fedora.
You will be responsible for software design and development within my client's server virtualisation platform, as well as OpenStack, Apache CloudStack, and Linux distro communities, which will involve collaboration with my client's server virtualisation and CloudStack product teams. Your responsibility will be to improve and the support the integration between these projects, to improve the use of the server virtualisation platform for developers and users of public and private cloud deployments. This will include design and test of new features, integrated system development and test, and packaging and installation.
You will also be responsible for aiding and encouraging use of my client's server virtualisation platform and the new features that you have developed, including mailing list support, documentation, and blogging.
This is primarily a development role, but includes significant R & D responsibilities, and day-to-day project management and scheduling. You will be a senior technical member of the team in Cambridge (with Cambourne as an option), working most closely with a peer team in Santa Clara, California, the server virtualisation platform teams in Cambridge, and the open-source communities globally. This is a small team, with responsibility for all aspects of feature development, including reviews and automated QA. My client has an opening for a talented Linux kernel engineer. Someone who can contribute to the lower-level areas at the heart of their server virtualization platform. My client is seeking a senior software engineer with specialized skills in cloud computing, server virtualization, and open-source development to join their OpenStack Engineering team.
This team is responsible for improving my client's support for OpenStack across the product portfolio. In particular, we work to improve OpenStack's support for the server virtualisation platform, working with the platform team in their designs for new cloud-specific features, and exposing them within OpenStack as they are developed.
You will be responsible for software design and development within the OpenStack open-source community, collaborating with the server virtualisation community and the platform product team.
