Working in a multi-disciplinary environment, this role involves the development of track alignment designs from a whole life cycle perspective that meet the project functional, safety and sustainability requirements.
Our client operates a competency management system that ensures the continuous monitoring and development of the skills of their staff. This will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to develop permanent way engineering skills relevant to their job.
Key Responsibilities
The main areas of responsibility are:
Undertake track alignment design.
Carry out the production of CAD generated drawings for modelling Permanent Way horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections and Switches & Crossings layouts.
Provide input to develop engineering solutions and produce reports and drawings.
Support the Senior Design Engineer in the design development.
Liaise with multi-disciplinary team members.
Job Requirements
The key requirements for this job are as follows:
Experience in track design would be an advantage.
Microstation or AutoCAD experience would be an advantage.
MXRail (or InRail) CAD experience (further training can be provided).
Working knowledge of HMRI Safety Principles, Railway Group Standards and Network Rail Company Standards.
Enthusiasm and willingness to advance in the company along a technical career path.
At least qualified to BTEC/HTC in Civil, Building or Mechanical engineering (or equivalent)
A degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline would be desirable.
