PRIMARY PURPOSE OF ROLE

Helping to continue their dedication to product excellence, you will provide a full range of technical support services to their Customers - including installation, service, repair, overhaul, upgrade, modification and training.
Having ideally served a recognised Electrical/Mechanical apprenticeship, you will have relevant qualifications and a background in the service/maintenance industry. With a good mechanical aptitude and detailed knowledge of electrical fault-finding, you will be able to read electrical and pneumatic drawings and preferably be experienced in, and have knowledge of, packaging machinery (specifically PC and MC controls and DC and AC drives). Overall Purpose of the Job
To ensure machine faults are diagnosed and remedied or, if irresolvable, reported immediately. Ensure that machine efficiency standards are met whilst actively supporting the development and maintenance of proactive Health & Safety procedures.
Key responsibilities
To complete gate freeze off analysis and report deviations.
To carry out regular tool inspections, including cleaning and greasing.
To ensure processes are monitored daily, optimising processes to achieve cycle times and report reasons for variance of cycle times.
To ensure an acceptable first off sample is produced at start of each production run.
To liase with the engineering department to ensure minimum downtime of process.
Compliance with departmental/company procedures.

To ensure all scrap waste is segregated.
To carry out daily water heater checks and record checks onto attribute charts.
To ensure effective shift handover both verbal and written. It is the responsibility of each tool setter to ensure that the first and last hour of each shift all machines are checked for documentation, material hoppers are topped up and purgings removed prior to handing over to the oncoming shift.
