A good working knowledge of stress analysis using FEA, engineering stiffness calculations for metals and polymers, material properties, mould tool design and manufacturing processes, as the successful candidate will be designing a broad range of products using a wide variety of components such as castings, forgings and other machined parts.

Experience of CAD is essential - preferably Autocad/Inventor.
