The successful candidate will work as part of a new team to deliver medium to large scale projects in both the public & private sector. Principal functions will include: Mechanical design work for a range of projects. Carrying out heat loss & heat gain calculations both by static & dynamic means. Establish the ventilation, heating & A/C layout together with all aspects of public health. Co-ordinate with the Electrical Design Engineer and issue all information to allow electrical design to be completed. Liaise with the design team members to convey the requirements of the M&E service to them, as well as understanding the client brief. Write the specification for the project and establish the schedules for all equipment. Respond to contractor queries & attend site progress meetings. Candidate Specification: Good multi-disciplinary knowledge of your field and able to positively advise other disciplines regarding aspects of the design as it impacts mechanical engineering issues. Essential Requirements: HNC/D (or equivalent) in a related subject. Experience and exposure of a range of mechanical engineering solutions. Experience in HVAC applications. Experience in the use of Hevacomp. A strong technical focus. Able to work to deadlines and work autonomously when required. Excellent written & oral communication skills. Desirable Requirements: Ideally, experience working in UK mechanical engineering involved in the lifecycles of projects. Experience working in or with a multi-disciplinary design consultancy. Applicants will be expected to possess considerable knowledge & skills attained during previous work experience within the building construction and/or civil engineering industry.
