Main Duties and Responsibilities
Develop mechanical engineering best practices within the animal feed areas of factory sites. Recognise and develop potential projects in these areas and support factories in project execution.
Develop 'expert group' areas to ensure that company / industry best practice is recognised and pursued in these areas.
Maintain and develop company engineering standards to support the adoption of best practices and to provide the foundation for the businesses engineering compliance.
Give support to factories as required in the following areas:
Major breakdown recovery
Cause and effect analysis
Engineering improvement projects
Engineering systems support
PERSON SPECIFICATION

KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE
Professionally qualified mechanical engineer.
Background in heavy engineering, continuous processes, power generation, chemical engineering systems, fluid dynamics and fluid transfer, mechanical handling systems and equipment.
A good knowledge of HandS systems and legislation to support and back up work on site.
SKILLS and ABILITIES

The ability to assimilate information from a number of different sources and to use it to determine the correct course of action.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB:
Working within the overall Operations Department, the role holder is responsible for day to day management of the Onshore Operations functions of Workshop, Warehouse and Maintenance. Onshore Operations department management

Have support staff in place for key Onshore Operations functions and regularly resource plan to ensure the business needs are supported by the Onshore Operations function.
Responsible for development, support and driving the Onshore operations department to deliver objectives. Support direct reports with hiring, team development, resolving problems, performance management and resource planning etc.
Provide weekly email report in required format to Operations Director. Ensure onshore operations team meet regularly to review performance and create environment for two-way dialogue.
Set Department KPI's and maintain performance monitoring, analysis and review against established metrics and standards to drive improvements.
Create and maintain an environment of teamwork within own department and with Projects Engineers, Projects Manager and Offshore Operations Manager to ensure a harmonious working relationship between Projects/onshore/offshore operations.
JOB KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE:
Experience and skills
Relevant experience in running Operations Department (minimum 5 years).
Would preferably have working knowledge of drilling equipment/procedures, subsea and surface wellhead equipment and procedures.
