You will be developing customer relationships and executing work programmes within our client's Supportability and Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) consultancy business.
This is position requires recent experience in developing through life Supportability and R&M strategies on defence programmes and the ability to apply Supportability and ARM principles and processes to complex engineering systems.
Requirements
You will have experience of working within the defence sector on Supportability (including Integrated Logistic Support) and R&M engineering programmes. Preferably you will have held a recent position within a consultancy business environment working as a Supportability and R&M engineer / consultant.
You will have knowledge of the applicable Ministry of Defence (MoD) standards for Supportability / R&M, along with an understanding of the role of Supportability / R&M in the context of the MoD’s Acquisition Management System. Job Summary
A Project Manager is required to work within our client's Defence Land & Marine consultancy, working with companies across the Defence Industry and the MoD. A Junior Project Manager (trainee) would be considered for the right applicant showing the right aptitudes and desire to pursue a career in Technical Project Management.
Responsibilities
The Project Manager will support the business on a range of projects, helping to organise and deliver complex programmes of technical engineering work. This role will initially be focused in the Land (Army) domain, working with the MoD on a large (£multi-billion) programme to procure future medium weight fighting vehicles. Core activities will include; the definition and co-ordination of programmes of technical work (internal and external), employment of recognised PM best practice to ensure the successful delivery of projects, work packages and contracts with sub-contracting organisations, providing PM consultancy to internal and external customers, and assisting our client to build upon its strong reputation for Project and Programme Management.
The incumbent will be exposed to a wide variety of stakeholders, and will require an understanding of the engineering design process and systems engineering, as well as project management techniques. The candidate should also show an advanced appreciation of the commercial aspects of engineering, through experience of planning and contracting for technical work. The Project Manager may be required to take part in strategic level discussions, and provide insights and advice on programme related issues to inform our clients.
