Charity Street Fundraisers make a real difference to real people’s lives…
We are looking for positive people who possess a ‘can-do’ attitude and believe in the importance of raising funds for St. Mungo’s, a London-based homeless charity. Make 2012 the year you start your fundraising career and help the 300,000 homeless people in London who urgently need your help. Make 2012 the year you make a real difference to real people’s lives.
The role offers…
• Starting rate of £9 per hour (earning potential £12 per hour)
• 35 hour week (Mon-Fri, 10am-6pm, F/T)
• Paid weekly
• Holiday Pay
• Training and support throughout your fundraising career (candidates with previous fundraising experience will be preferred but it is not essential)
• Career progression to management level
• Opportunities to experience first-hand the charity’s work by visiting projects currently running across London
The ideal candidate will be…
• Experienced in charity street fundraising (e.g. direct debit donations)
• Passionate about raising money for charity
• Sensitive towards the issues surrounding homelessness
• Fun, outgoing, confident, determined, persuasive and inspirational
• Dynamic and a genuine team player
• Motivated to meet targets on a regular basis
The role requires you to be…
• 18 years old or over
• Living in London
• Flexible and willing to travel to different areas in and out of London
• A strong communicator – must have excellent command of the English language
Street fundraising is not for the faint-hearted. It involves a lot of constant rejection because many people will say ‘no’ – maintaining that they do not have time to stop and talk; that they do not have money to contribute to the cause; or, even, that they do not believe in charity and do not agree with what you are doing. However, if you think you are the type of person who will not let this stop you being an amazing fundraiser, please apply…
** All qualified applicants with current entitlement to work in the UK (including for example HSMP visas) are welcome. We regret we are unable to seek work permits on behalf of candidates, which means that applicants requiring work permits unfortunately will not be considered.
We endeavour to reply to all applications. However if you have not heard from us within 7 days you have been unsuccessful with this particular role. You are very welcome to apply to future advertisements placed by The Sammons Group.
