We are currently recruiting for a Sheet Metal Inspector for our established client based on the outskirts of Portsmouth, Hampshire.
Inspection training can be provided to candidates with extensive Sheet Metal experience, although some inspection experience would be an advantage.Candidates must have the ability to read engineering drawings and understand trigonometry.
First off Inspection:
Will need to be able to deal with first off inspection of new sheet metal parts, to work from customer drawings and 100% check all dimensions after part has been punched (in flat form). Must be able to calculate and check all dimensions in this flat form (working out development to ensure part will be correct after folding) When completed the part will then be passed back to production.
Will be able to use and operate a Mitutoyu B706 Three Co-Ordinate Measuring Table (training can be arranged if no previous experience).
Pre-finish Inspection:
Will be responsible for inspection of parts completed from shop floor and ready for next outside process.
Final Inspection:
Will be responsible for inspection of parts after all outside processes have been completed.
Administration:
Part of the role will be to deal with internal and external rejected parts and all associated paperwork using company production software and usual Microsoft products i.e. excel and word
Must be flexible in outlook and have ability to work within a small business (40 employees) as an important member of the team.
Hours:
Applicant will be working a 40 hour week with a choice of 2 shifts:
1.Monday to Wednesday 0700 to 1800, Thursday 0700 to 1600
2.Monday to Thursday 0700 to 17.30
Overtime:
Overtime is worked on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday
Overtime is paid at time and a half for first 8 hours and double time for all further hours
This is currently at a level of 8-14 hours overtime
Rates of Pay:
£10.00 - £11.00 per hour dependent on level of experience

The Armature Winder will carry out the rewind, recondition, rebuild and test of various electro-mechanical equipment to the satisfaction of the Customer and the Management team.
Responsibilities:
· Test armatures and motors to ensure proper operation.
· Inspect various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment for damage and evidence of electrical malfunctions.
· Clean and polish parts using solvent and buffing wheel.
· Disassemble salvaged equipment used in electric-power systems and discard non-repairable parts.
