Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Motor Design Engineer (Mechanical) will be responsible for providing the power business with mechanical design expertise to support the design and development of specialist high power motors and generators.

Our client is a specialist company providing innovative system and product solutions for naval,
land and air based applications. They seek to fill the vacancy for a Principal Electronics Engineer.

To be successful the candidate must have proven experience with Servo Control Systems.
That is Servo Electronics, Control Systems or Power Systems with a decent analogue background too. Experience of FPGA or standard Digital Design although useful is not essential. Ideally the candidate will have had some involvement in flight simulation work.

This is a great opportunity as this person could potentially be the System Design Authority or run the team. This person could be someone with a good educational background with a few years experience, but show ambition and drive to further their career.

Background
The Principal Electronics Engineer will work within a team in the ISTAR business unit. The primary areas of work within the team are related to the design and development of camera systems, servo controlled platforms and other military equipment for use in land, sea and air domains.

The Principal Electronics Engineer will report to the ISTAR Electronics Group Leader and will be expected to take responsibility for a number of projects working in either a lead design capacity and also as the Systems Design Authority when required.


The Purpose of the Role:

Our Client’s Operations department manufacture bespoke military Stabilised Platforms, Surveillance, Gun control, Cameras, Control systems and Weapons Integration equipment in low volume, small batch production basis. Equipment is manufactured from existing, new and prototype drawings often with the incorporation of a high volume of changes; this requires a significant and continuous input from the Production Engineer in both Electrical and Mechanical disciplines. They seek to fill the vacancy for that Production Engineer.

The Purpose of the Role:
Reporting to the Head of Operations the Production Engineer is required to:
• oversee the smooth introduction of new and existing designs of complex electro mechanical equipment from development to manufacture.
• provide a service to the Project and Design teams to ensure that designs are produced to achieve the most cost effective manufacture and procurement methods.
• continually review processes to reduce costs.
• assist the shop floor in designing & providing tooling necessary for manufacture.
