Purpose
My client based in London is looking for a Senior Planning Engineer to Plan and programme civil engineering works at Tender and Construction stage. Preparation of submission documents and prepare compensation event programmes and narratives.
They offer a basic salary ranging up to £50K which includes a fantastic benefits package.
Duties
Tender Stage:
• Prepare well-engineered programmes, which add to the tender chances of success.
• Assess tender temporary works requirements and value engineering solutions.
• Assess tender major quantities and assess errors/discrepancies.
Present programme philosophy and tender strategy advantages to client at interview/presentation
Contract Stage:
• Prepare and or develop from tender programme, well-engineered contract programmes, which contribute to successful project outcome in terms of time and cost.
• Prepare monitoring systems and monitor contract progress. • Prepare monthly progress reports for submission with monthly report and present at monthly progress meetings with Client. • Prepare compensation event programmes and narratives, which facilitate successful compensation event resolution.
Experience/Skills Required
• Good understanding of various forms of tender documents, contract documents and specifications.
• Good understanding of various methods of planning, programming and progress monitoring.
• Good understanding of risk and opportunity management with particular reference to planning/programming.
• Good understanding of the events that initiate, and of the methods used to demonstrate, compensation event entitlement.
• Good understanding of the construction market, methods of construction, plant, equipment and labour requirements.

Technical Services Business Development Manager
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
We propose to recruit a dedicated business development resource to promote the growth of our technical services function. The technical services department has enjoyed a period of consistent growth and it is desired that this new resource will contribute strongly to a continued increase in the business of the UK technical services operation. Summary of proposed duties.
* Work with management and team leaders to drive Business Development Plan

* Take responsibility for existing 'Products' from a business development view point
* Work with Manager and team leaders to develop new product and services offerings then together take them to market
* As representative of the customer, work with leadership to enhance existing products and develop them to meet the needs of the changing market
* 'Control Systems' sales force liaison and support
o Promotion of pre-contract services including surveys, specification preparation and validation of existing installation (Brownfield jobs)
o Generation of additional scope of work
o Pre-contract pricing for services elements within projects (bid and tender assistance as required)
o Mentoring the systems sales force to promote at early stage in customer relationship
o Customer facing work with existing sales team (including liaison directly with the customer base as appropriate)

PERSON SPECIFICATION / LIMITS OF AUTHORITY
* Experience in UK based direct sales and committed to the promotion of technical services.
* Familiar with the UK process industry and client base
* Confident to sell directly at a senior management /director level
* Professional and co-operative, with a pleasant 'can do' attitude.
* Able to demonstrate a reasonable technical knowledge of Control Systems.
* Confident presenter / public speaker
* Willing and able to travel 50-70% of working week, mostly within UK but with occasional European visits.

LEAD ENGINEER
ROLE OF POSITION
• Reports to Chief Engineer
• To manage a team of designers in a pro-active manner
• To undertake specific tasks to achieve the engineering outputs to programme, cost and specification in accordance with the Engineering and Project Management Procedures.
