The main duties of this role is to manage clinical studies (projects) of new and established pharmaceuticals performed at or by our client at their specialist unit in South Wales. To ensure the projects are conducted according to the latest ICH guidelines, to ensure that the documentation associated with the projects is maintained in a timely manner and that the client and senior management are kept fully informed of all aspects of the project.
• To discuss and liaise with clients in conjunction with others regarding study design, feasibility, protocols, Case Report Forms, costs and timeframes.
• To prepare and review protocols and other study related documents such as informed consent and IB.
• To prepare submission documents for the Local Research Ethics Committee and regulatory authorities such as MHRA, ARSAC and R & D.
• To attend the Local Research Ethics Committee meetings in order to present the project.
• To set up, maintain and archive Investigator Site Files (ISF) and Trial Master Files (TMF’s).
• To manage projects according to current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• To report projects according to client specific procedures or to our clients SOPs.
• To prepare and QC check pharmacokinetic and clinical study reports for data generated in specific projects.
• To assist when necessary in pharmaceutical dispensing, disposal of study material and maintenance of drug administration records.
• To supervise and train staff as appropriate.
• To maintain an awareness of current advances in clinical pharmacology and pharmaceutical research, with specific reference to current/future application.
• To inform the relevant management of the progress of the project.
• To negotiate with clients either alone or with others the details of the project contacts which will include financial as well as scientific, medical and administrative issues.
• To be familiar with and work to all the relevant Standard Operating Procedures in force.
To conduct all studies to the standards of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
You will need to have a clinical background and a strong understanding of human physiology, a
Minimum of a Science Hons. Degree and you will also need to have a proven track record as a Project Manager or similar role, have knowledge of ICHGCP, UK Statutory Instrument No. 1031 including subsequent amendments (and related guidelines) and of statistical and pharmacokinetic analysis.
