The Company

One of the UK's leading designers, manufacturers, and suppliers of Specialist Electrical Vehicles is looking to expand its engineering team. Their Designes are used from Motorsport through Automotive to even to Rail, this particular application will be for current Hybrid Electric Vehicles.

The Role

Working in the engineering team, you will be focussing on a new product design and development, specifically in the mechanical engineering aspects of design and product development through to production. You will be involved in both the mechanical / housing aspects of the motors and batteries.

The Candidate

You will have a good understanding of the design of develpment of complext asseblies and systems. There is no specific requirement with regards to the type of CAD software used, but some 3D CAD experience will be required ideally with Solidworks. As will a good understanding of analysis and material selection.

Ideally our client is seeking at least a Degree qualified engineer, but you must have some professional experience with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role.

The Role

The Production Manager will be responsible to manage, lead and control quality, cost and delivery within their defined area of production. The daily duties will be;

Achieve internal and external Quality Targets, ideally Zero PPM, rejects & scrap.
Eliminate all areas of wasted activity and materials.
Ensure all processes and people are working to the relevant procedure and that all procedures are relevant and up-to-date.
Maintain Housekeeping standards to the highest possible level.
Define training needs for your area and plan and implement as required. Monitor effectiveness of training provided.
Implement and monitor Health & Safety policy and procedures and ensure adherence to safe working practices. Also ensure that all employees (in your area) are trained and aware of their responsibilities.

Support and implement initiatives and standards throughout the company, ie TS 14969 and ISO 14001.
Monitor timekeeping and absenteeism daily and ensure any follow-up action is done in a timely manner.
Follow up any disciplinary issues immediately and ensure your manager is informed or consulted as required.
Complete any computer records or bookings required.

The Person

The ideal candidate will come from a previous automotive tier 1 supervisory background and will be well versed in the demands of production management in that type of fast paced environment. The person will have a strong character, be adaptable to the day to day issues that may arise and will be able to develop a good rapport with all levels of staff and be able to communicate with credibility both internally and externally. The ability to prioritise workload in a high pressure environment will be mandatory

Experiences:
