Location: Rugby with UK and overseas travel
Commissioning Engineer / Service Engineer / Drives Engineer Maintenance Engineer urgently required by my client who are an engineering company providing customised solutions and systems, converting electrical energy into productive performance. These solutions are built around 3 core components; rotating machines, variable speed drives, automation and process controls. My client works within marines, renewable, processing industry, oil & gas and offshore. Due to planned and continued expansion they are now looking for a Commissioning Engineer / Service Engineer / Maintenance Engineer / Drives Engineer
The role:
1.To be competent and have a proven record of HV/LV plant and systems commissioning.
2.Commissioning and setting to work of all Marine Propulsion and ancillary drives systems including transformers, variable speed thyristor based drives and their associated digital regulators.
3.Servicing and fault finding on Marine Propulsion drives systems ranging from older, superseded analogue equipment to modern digital systems.
4.Installation and checking of all Cabling, switchboards, circuit breakers, contactors, transformers, UPS systems, generators and motors.
5.To produce as commissioned documentation in accordance with independently audited Company Quality and Safety Management Systems e.g. BS EN 18001 and Classification Societies e.g. Lloyds Register and DNV.
6.Support the execution of EIE initiatives whose aim is to reduce commissioning cycle times & customer complaints.
Responsibilities:
1.To act in the role of ‘Competent Person' as required by the Electricity at Work Regulations and other legislation, with regard to the administration of Operational Safety including the issuing of Permits to Work, Sanction for Test and Limitation of Access documentation.
2.Production of Risk Assessments and Method Statements, in accordance with the requirements of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations and other relevant legislation such as the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations.
3.To provide appropriate information, instruction, training and supervision to others to enable them to comply with health and safety legislation.

My client is extremely well established and has an enviable portfolio of clients in both the private and public sectors.
As an Energy Manager / Energy Engineer / Building Services Engineer you will be responsible for conducting energy surveys and proposing engineering solutions which will dramatically impact on the energy costs.
This is a key role in the company and there is potential for directorship within the business.
The candidate will have a good understanding of most aspects of energy management and controlling energy and utilities use in buildings which will allow them to make an immediate contribution to existing energy management activities. Their existing experience will include a working knowledge (but not necessarily be expert) in most of the following:
*use of energy databases to produce utilities consumption and cost reports;
*ability to analyse daily, weekly and monthly consumption patterns from detailed supplier's consumption data;
*ability to identify when excessive consumption occurs and knowing what remedial steps should be taken to reduce this;
*a knowledge of basic building controls systems and general principles for programming BMS's for maximum efficiency; experience of undertaking energy surveys in buildings to identify practical measures for reducing energy consumption through plant efficiency gains;
* understanding how to assess cost savings, determine the cost of the measure and how to prepare investment business cases for submission to the client's board of directors.
The candidate should be prepared to learn how to undertake specialist surveys and computer modelling of buildings to prepare building energy efficiency assessments in compliance with the EU Energy Labelling Directive.
The candidate will be a graduate with either an HND or Honours degree ideally in an appropriate technical subject such as Engineering, Building Services, Applied Physics or similar and will have a track record in energy management probably gained over a period of up to 10 years.
