RESPONSIBLE TO:
Test and Service Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
Desirable to BSc standard in electrical, electronic or computer engineering, preferably with related Apprenticeship or Industrial Work placement(s).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
General:
To test electrical products within the factory. To perform these duties efficiently.
To comply with company rules.
Specific Functions including but not limited to:-
a) The installation, fault repair, commissioning, modification of equipment to the
customers satisfaction.
b) To collect data prior to a service/commissioning visit and ascertain its relevance
accuracy and complement.
c) To ensure that tools and instruments are available to carry out the work.
d) To be aware of the contractual requirements of the work and act accordingly.
e) To prepare a report of site activities which enables others (unfamiliar with the
specific contract) to readily comprehend the situation and act accordingly.
f) To also record all data from site which is relevant and useful for future
reference.
g) To liaise with site personnel and ensure the rapid putting into service of the
equipment.
h) To enhance the company's reputation by the approach to each task or activity.
i) To carry out testing in the factory as per J & K.
j) To complete a visual inspection of the product.
k) To compare and test in relation to diagrams all electrical circuitry and software.
l) To perform standard tests on all electromechanical devices.
m) To check, set up, modify, redesign (if necessary) electrical/electronic circuit
within the product.
n) To evaluate all bought in items incorporated within the equipment or
used in conjunction with company equipment. To ensure their conformance with
company and manufacturers specifications.
o) To complete test certificates and fault sheets relating to each contract.
p) To perform all tests, operate test equipment and supplies in a safe manner.
q) To be totally familiar with all test equipment and its use.
3.3. HEALTH AND SAFETY:
a) To be conversant with and implement the Company Safety Policy.
b) To be conversant with and implement all relevant Company Health and Safety
requirements contained in Safety Manuals, Procedure Manuals and Standards
Manuals.
3.4. QUALITY ASSURANCE:
To understand and implement the Company Quality Policy, Quality Manual,
Company Procedures and standards that apply to Test activities. |
