This role is within the Engineering Performance and Emissions department. The team is responsible for developing engines for Tier 3 currently and Tier 4 in the future. The positions are within the 4.4L and 6.6L platform teams.
The Role:
You will have responsibility for the planning and delivery of initial engine and emissions reduction technology system setup on 3-5 engines
You will direct the work of 2-3 junior engineers on each team and ensure the programs are completed on time and meet the technical objectives
Within the first year you will be responsible for leading the team to develop early pre-production calibrations for select machine customers
After approximately 2 years, you will be responsible for leading the team to develop the entire 4D or 6D production ratings for Tier 4 in 2011
Specific responsibilities include ensuring the emissions reduction systems and engine meet the performance and emissions technical objectives. You will have to ensure the data from the engines is being properly analysed and interpreted correctly and the results are being presented to the team so that conclusions can be made and next steps identified
You will be expected to keep abreast of technology changes within this area, work with the aftertreatment, fuel systems, air systems and controls teams to understand the interactions and manufacturing processes and provide guidance and direction for the project and less experienced engineers
Requirements:

Experience working with customer and/or suppliers
Communicate technical information effectively (written and verbal)
Minimum 3 years experience in engine development, preferably with EGR and/or aftertreatment experience

Senior Design Engineer
Our client is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, dynamic Senior Design Engineer to implement the design of large subsystems, both schemes and layouts, with consideration for manufacturing and assembly requirements.
The Role:
To design engine and major sub-systems, engine-to-vehicle installations, feasibility studies and value analysis/value engineering programmes

This excellent opportunity to head a small team of Engineers is open to candidates with extensive experience gained within the Development and Testing of Diesel Engines.
Candidates will ideally have a proven track record of leading a small Team of Engineers (5 - 8 people) and demonstrate the ability to develop, plan, build and prepare Engine Test Facilities using the very latest in engine technologies. (Tier 4 and beyond)

The lubrication component team require an experienced design/development engineer to support the design and validation activities for the lubrication system. Mechanical design/development of engine systems and components from concept through validation and into production, to time cost and quality
Develop and maintain activity and resource plans for design/development, and provide dates for drawing, tooling and production release and verification
Maintain manufacturing assembly and service procedures for engine components
Deliver Pro-engineer CAD models, analysis and detail drawings
Supply Illustrated parts lists (IPLs) and option compatibility statements to drive the release and procurement process
Support supplier development and APQP process
Oversee the completion of FMEAs and conduct design reviews as appropriate
Present and support Product realisation reviews (PRR) activities
Raise and process ECRs (Engineering Change Requests) and ECOs
Arrange and supervise component test activities through the Test manager system
Requirements:
Degree qualified in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, with 4 to 6 years relevant experience
Sound base engine engineering knowledge, with significant experience in many of the following core competencies:
Core principles: fluid mechanics, heat transfer, dynamics, statics, and materials
Engine systems: lubrication, cooling, sealing, in-cylinder, vibration and fatigue
Engineering processes: design, CAD, supplier, product and manufacturing processes
Creative: concept engine and system design, spatial awareness, ability to pursue patent information and infringement, cost effective design, variety minimisation
Design: Pro-engineering modelling, detailing and analysis, design calculations (hand), ability to define CAE inputs and derive design conclusions
