Main Purpose of Job:

Qualifications and Specialist Training
Preferably degree qualified in electrical engineering.
Job Experience
Must have at least five years' experience working in a contractor-based background within the water industry on sewage and water treatment works.
Specialist Knowledge/Competences
Ideally be knowledgeable in all project engineer/management techniques required for the design and construction of water and/or sewage treatment works, particularly in regards to HV electrical Engineering. An understanding of conditions of contract and budget control is also required. The person shall also be computer literate and possess good negotiating skills.
A good knowledge of control panel design, cable sizing/calculations and instrumentation required within the water industry would be preferred. Additional skills involvingICAis advantageous.

Job Description:
Our client is currently seeking an Electrical Site Supervisor within the water sector.
Requirements are as follows:
Ensure that safe working practices are adhered to by monitoring and mentoring own staff and sub contractors.
Monitor the quality of sub contract work to ensure work meets required standards and project specifications
Resolve site technical queries by liaison with the main design office for the best technical solution to meet project specifications
Provide support to Site Managers with client liaison by attending meetings and reporting progress to ensure customer satisfaction.
Liaise with suppliers of technical equipments for the provision of technical help and information to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment to meet client needs.
Maintain a site diary to record work activities and resources used and to ensure a record of all work activities is maintained.
Ensure that all site activity meets both internal company standards and external regulatory requirements with respect to Health, Safety and the Environment to ensure the company's obligations and policies in these areas are fully complied with.
Candidate requirements:
Clean and waste water electrical installation and commissioning experience.
Capable of being appointed as authorised person for isolation and permit to work purposes. The electrical supervisor is totally responsible for electrical safety on site. The post holder will be electrically authorised by the company and will be responsible for electrical isolations and permitting. The role will change from installation supervision to electrical commissioning as the project progresses, leading eventually to a process commissioning support role. There is a large quality assurance aspect to the role, with a larger certification documentation input.
A full and documented apprenticeship or similar training endowing the job holder with a wide knowledge of their chosen discipline. This would be enhanced by a complementary technical NVQ type qualification (Essential)
