We're looking to recruit an Environmental Aquatics specialist to join our client who are a major Utility company, based in Swindon, Wiltshire. Based in their Environmental Team, you'll focus on water related issues on Power Stations.

The role would suit a Graduate (Or equivalent) with a good Degree in a numerate science / environmental subject, and it's crucial that you can demonstrate a sound understanding of the science of the aquatic environment, and its relevance to Power Stations.

The role includes interacting with project development teams to optimise plant design, developing technical cases to assess the environmental impacts of existing & proposed power plant developments, as well as the opportunity to help develop the company’s thinking on strategic aquatic issues. The role includes responsibility for quantitative analysis both through quick response and more detailed analysis including mathematical and numerical modelling delivered either directly or through contractors.

It would be a distinct advantage if you have skills in modelling dispersion in the water environment, and the ability to interpret the potential impacts of discharges on the aquatic environment ( (including effects on biological, physio-chemical  and hydromorphological receptors) Also advantageous would be the ability to scope, design, manage and interpret relevant fieldwork programmes. You'll also be able to develop technical cases to assess aquatic environmental impacts, be familiar with UK regulatory issues for large projects (Knowledge of the EPR permitting process would be great!), and be able to demonstrate knowledge of current and emerging regulation of the aquatic environment.

Role is based in Swindon, Wiltshire, and will pay somewhere in the region of £35-55k + an excellent benefits package which may include an annual bonus and potential relocation assistance. Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer – East Midlands - £40k to £60k

We are currently looking to recruit a chartered EC&I Engineer to join a power station based in the East Midlands

Reporting to the Engineering Manager you would be ultimately responsible ensuring the availability of all EC&I assets on site and aiding in project work as required. Managing a team of skilled EC&I Technicians you will install, fault find and calibrate all electronic control and general field instrumentation on site.

As an experienced EC&I engineer you will be proficient in programming and calibrating PLC's and control systems (DCS/SCDA), ensuring that all work is carried out with the highest regard for health and safety.

Managing the MMS you will ensure all EC&I activities are recorded as well as all spares and material information is recorded.

You will also be responsible for planning outage work, co-ordinating your team of technicians and contractors on site. Ensuring the plant is updated with software modification procedures is key to attaining maximum availability.

The ideal candidate for this position will hold a Degree in Electrical or Controls & Instrumentation Engineering alongside being a chartered engineer. Candidates who are working toward chartered status will also be considered. Experience in the power sector working on gas turbines, steam generation and associated systems is essential

Telesales - S. London £25,000 salary + comm. (£35k O.T.E.)

This is an interesting sales role working for a young dynamic company with a specialised solution against the ever growing food waste problem by offering an alternative to traditional landfill. Think of food waste (solid & liquid) as ‘fuel’ as this is what our client company wants for its unique process where it converts waste food and organic liquids into energy.

Your role will be to canvass any source of unwanted waste food material, typically found from restaurants & bars, cafes, fast food outlets, hotels, hospitals, stadia, supermarkets, retail outlets to local authorities for their catering waste with a view to arranging for the regular collection of the food waste which in turn offers a much cheaper alternative to normal collection costs incurred currently by normal waste refuse collection. This position will involve visits to businesses of varying sizes using local transport or your own transport for which you will be reimbursed for.

To be successful you will obviously need to be a good communicator, capable of ‘selling’ both over the phone and in person, generating your own leads, making appointments and managing your own diary with experience gained in business to business sales relationships coupled with good time management abilities and proficient with office PC systems. Multi-skilled Technician electrical bias - Plant Utilities – Shrewsbury / Telford / Shropshire £24-26k package Day shift work 37.5 hours

Our client is a leading provider of operations and maintenance engineer services to the utility sector in the UK; they currently have a vacancy for a Multi skilled Technician in the Shrewsbury Telford area of Shropshire, to carry out electrical and mechanical multi skilled preventative and reactive maintenance on the plant systems - which the company is responsible for on site.

This includes planned and unplanned maintenance and diagnostics on air compressors, pumps, boilers, water and effluent treatment plant, refrigeration and other factory utility systems.

We’re currently seeking to recruit an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the projects department of a company who specialises in installing and maintaining small scale power plants

This is predominantly an office based role in Cheshire although some time may be required working on sites around the UK.

Reporting into the companies lead designer the Electrical Engineer will be responsible for supporting sales and projects by creating electrical specifications, HV/ LV electrical designs, schematic drawings and equipment schedules as well as carrying out technical calculations and assessments relating to the installation and integration of new generators into new and existing customer sites.

The ideal candidate will have experience carrying out LV and HV (up to 11kv) project work including design and calculations. He/she will also be suitably qualified, ideally to HND level.

The role requires someone with a strong grounding in Manufacturing Engineering who can apply key Manufacturing principles to solve problems and improve efficiency. A large Waste to Energy Power Station in North London is currently seeking to recruit an experience Plant Manager to manage the daily operations and maintenance of the plant, optimising the disposal of waste and generation of electricity.  This is a well established facility and employer in the area and they can offer a challenging and rewarding career.

The Plant Manager will be responsible for the safe, efficient and continuous operation of plant, ensuring compliance with strict legislative controls (IPPC, WID, etc) and management of a team in excess of 70 staff. Controlling a multi-million pound budget the Station Manager will take the lead in managing situations including; the technical / operational side of the plant, management of the staff, relationships with sub-contractors and liaison with the EA, local authorities and public bodies.

This will be a challenging role as the site is one of the older energy from waste plants and has a very well established team, therefore a strong character and manager is required, someone who has good experience in dealing with Unions and can quickly grasp the strengths and weaknesses of the current operation and move forward.

To be considered you will be able to demonstrate experience working at Plant Manager, Operations Manager or Engineering Manager level within a Power Generation facility.  Management of a large financial budget and large multi-disciplinary teams is a must as well as a strong technical know-how and relevant Engineering qualification to at least HNC level.

The successful applicant will be rewarded with a salary of circa £60k plus car allowance of £7.7k, bonus, healthcare and potential relocation assistance.  Plus the stature of leading one of the Country’s most established Energy from Waste plants.

ngineering Technician - Wind Energy (With extensive European travel)

£18-22k + Benefits

Fareham, Hampshire

We're looking for an Engineering Technician, who is confident both Mechanically and Electrically, to travel around Europe installing hi-tech products on Wind Farms. You'll probably spend most of your working week on Wind Farm sites around the UK and Europe, at height and in the turbines in confined spaces.

The role would possibly suit a Royal Navy Mechanic or Operator, a Motor Mechanic, Marine Engineer or Boat Builder, along with Installation Technicians or Field Service Engineers. It's likely that you'll have served an apprenticeship, and you'll also need to have a basic low voltage Electrical understanding of as part of this role will involve wiring electrics into control panels.

Able to follow installation procedures with customers looking on, you'll need to pass a medical and be happy climbing ladders and working at height. Well presented and safety conscious, you'll need a clean driving licence and have no passport issues which could affect you travelling abroad.

You'll need good hands on industry experience, most likely in a trade, and be able to demonstrate a good level of care in your work. You'll also need to be computer literate.
