We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Project Director to manage the conversion of an Open Cycle Power/ Simple Cycle Power Station (OCGT/ SCCT) to a Combined Cycle plant (CCPP/ CCGT). The Project Director will work on behalf of the owner and will be responsible for managing all commercial and technical aspects of the Conversion Process which will include installing HRSG boilers, steam turbine, water treatment plant, cooling towers and all other balance of plant. Candidates MUST speak fluent French.
The Project Director will have overall responsibility for delivering Conversion from financial close through to commercial operation. Duties will include:
Acting as the "Owners Representative" to manage the relationship between the Owners, Lenders, Shareholders and EPC contractor to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget.
Ensuring compliance to the EPC contract managing any variations and limiting financial losses to the company. Managing the project budget, authorising purchase orders and accurately forecasting "costs to complete". Assisting in the development of Project Plans and reporting on the project at a variety of levels. Ensuring and enforcing Environmental, Health and Safety compliance on site. The Site Manager will work on behalf of the owner and will be responsible for managing all technical aspects of the Conversion Process which will include installing HRSG boilers, steam turbine, water treatment plant, cooling towers and all other balance of plant. Candidates MUST be able to speak, read and write in French and English.
Reporting to the Project Director, the Site Manager will be responsible for supervising the EPC contractors during the construction phase of the project in order to ensure the timely delivery of the project whilst ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations as well as the contract requirements. Duties will include:
Act as the general administrator of all the Owner's on-site activities, including the management of Owner's site facilities, staff and resources including the Owner's Engineer staff; Co-ordination of the review and comment of detailed EPC contractor engineering drawings, specifications and document submittals; Detailed analysis of the EPC contractors construction schedule and monthly report; Understanding and supervision of contracts and budgetary management, cost control, change order approvals; Verification of EPC contractor milestone payment requests; Lead the hiring of Owner's field staff, as required, to ensure adequate resources are in place for effective and timely execution of projects; Day to day site construction and project management; Participate in the selection of prospective contractors, to include contract preparation, negotiation and award Project cost control and reporting Daily interface with Plant Manager to coordinate contractor and subcontractor activities that could affect plant operations Liaison with local utility, government and regulatory bodies as required Liaise and co-ordinate with lender's engineer, as required Overall management responsibility over worksite safety to ensure an accident free project. Ensure safe working practices and HSE are adopted and adhered to throughout the project Ensure Contactor and subcontractor compliance with QA/QC obligations under the associated contracts Manage completion and testing of the facility in accordance with the Power Purchase Agreement and associated contracts A full list of responsibilities will be made available to candidates upon application.

You will be responsible for the operation of pumps, engines and generators to ensure the safe and continuous running of the plant operations, communicating any problems to the maintenance / management team and at the same time keeping accurate, detailed records of all plant settings, output and PPM requirements.
You will also be responsible for ensuring health & safety and environmental compliance and contributing to continuous improvement in productivity and plant availability.
The Person: Educated to a minimum of GCSE, or equivalent, in Maths and English the successful candidates will also need to demonstrate a strong analytical mind, with an NVQ Level 3 qualification, or equivalent in an engineering discipline. Prior experience in a Control Room/ Plant Operations role within a continuous process environment is essential.
Due to the new nature of the technology involved prior experience in the Composting / Green Waste / Food Waste / Water Treatment / Power Generation / Waste to Energy/ Energy from Waste sectors would be desirable.

We are seeking experienced Project Engineers from the Nuclear sector to work for a leading Consultancy in Risk Management and Safety Engineering to provide technical expertise to a very prestigious client based in Derby.
This role may very well suit candidates with a Navy Background as it will be advantageous if candidates applying have MoD/Navy Nuclear Propulsion Systems experience and/or Submarine Berthing Facilities experience too. All relevant qualifications and experience will be taken in to consideration. Candidates MUST have SC Level SECURITY CLEARNACE!!!
The details of the role are as follows:
Responsibilities for this role include providing budgetary, financial, planning and contractual support and involves working with, and alongside, a specified Work Package Owner (WPO) in delivering the assigned scope of work for the particular allocated Work Breakdown Structure areas. This is a key customer-facing role which requires work to be carried out with the Business Units Technical Leads (Submarines) and directly with external customers to achieve agreed objectives and deliver (contractual) commitments. The PE has to fully understand customer requirements and business opportunities and maintains effective customer interfaces. The PE is also required to maintain project plans and undertake regular internal and external reporting as required. With previous experience in a project role, gained with the nuclear industry, the PE has good project management skills and is able to work on their own initiative and has excellent interpersonal skills and is able to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels. The PE has extensive problem solving experience and is able to construct business cases and proposals in order to meet any evolving customer and business need.
Essential Experience:
The successful candidate should have minimum five years experience within the nuclear industry and special note will Be taken of experience in naval nuclear propulsion systems, and submarine berthing facilities.
Key Requirements and Competencies:

The role is for up to 6 Project Engineers working on a contract basis for a minimum of 12 months on the client's site in Derby. Rates are negotiable. There may also be some minimal travel to other sites so it is essential that candidates applying also have a full UK/EU Driving Licence.

We're currently seeing to recruit an experienced Lead Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join the Maintenance Department of a large Waste Processing Plant in Central London. The successful candidate will be required to work as part of a 6 to 2, 2 till 10 shift rota, with some occasional weekend required
As the Lead Maintenance Engineer you will be supervising a team of Engineers / Technicians and will be responsible for the following:

You will be leading a small maintenance team and therefore the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills, a strong technical knowledge and ability to work well under his/her own initiative in a high pressure environment.
Ideally candidates will be Electrically qualified at C&G/ ONC level or equivalent in an appropriate engineering discipline. In this role you will be expected to lead from the front, working closely with them team to ensure "down time" is kept to an absolute minimum and that lead Engineer role you will be expected to The successful candidate a proven experience working in an environment such as Chemical Production, Pharmaceuticals, Power Generation, Petrochem, Recycling, Paper Mill, Refinery, Foundry, Marine Engineering or any other heavy industry.

The Thermal & Renewables Division of the Power Unit presently requires a new principal carbon capture engineer with good industry experience to work within our team to deliver specific projects or sub-projects. You would also be required to act as a Senior Project Manager.
