The role would suit a Graduate (Or equivalent) with a good Degree in a numerate science / environmental subject, and it's crucial that you can demonstrate a sound understanding of the science of the aquatic environment, and its relevance to Power Stations.

Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Southampton, Hampshire (Close to Motorway)
c£35k-£40k including Car Allowance + Bonus Scheme
We're looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join a great company in Southampton who are recognised globally as a leader in their field. A hi-tech Manufacturer, they supply technology to sectors including Healthcare, Electronics and Power Generation.
The role requires someone with a strong grounding in Manufacturing Engineering who can apply key Manufacturing principles to solve problems and improve efficiency. We're looking for someone who can roll their sleeves up and take ownership of machinery installation projects, and can walk round a Manufacturing site and make innovative suggestions which drive the company forward. You'll have an acute awareness of health and safety, and will need an appropriate technical qualification such as an HND in an Engineering subject (Could be Electrical or Mechanical)
You'll understand Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles and will get involved in key challenges such as new product introduction, productivity improvement and improving supplier processes along with managing a team of manufacturing engineers and other personnel. You'll also be responsible for the introduction of new process equipment to manufacturing and provide training on new machine operation and ensure all safety and legal standards are in place. You will also need to be fairly flexible in your approach to work as there will be some International travel involving overnight stays. A full UK driving licence is also essential for this position.

A large Waste to Energy Power Station in North London is currently seeking to recruit an experience Plant Manager to manage the daily operations and maintenance of the plant, optimising the disposal of waste and generation of electricity. This is a well established facility and employer in the area and they can offer a challenging and rewarding career.
The Plant Manager will be responsible for the safe, efficient and continuous operation of plant, ensuring compliance with strict legislative controls (IPPC, WID, etc) and management of a team in excess of 70 staff. Controlling a multi-million pound budget the Station Manager will take the lead in managing situations including; the technical / operational side of the plant, management of the staff, relationships with sub-contractors and liaison with the EA, local authorities and public bodies.
This will be a challenging role as the site is one of the older energy from waste plants and has a very well established team, therefore a strong character and manager is required, someone who has good experience in dealing with Unions and can quickly grasp the strengths and weaknesses of the current operation and move forward.
To be considered you will be able to demonstrate experience working at Plant Manager, Operations Manager or Engineering Manager level within a Power Generation facility. Management of a large financial budget and large multi-disciplinary teams is a must as well as a strong technical know-how and relevant Engineering qualification to at least HNC level.
The successful applicant will be rewarded with a salary of circa £60k plus car allowance of £7.7k, bonus, healthcare and potential relocation assistance. Plus the stature of leading one of the Country’s most established Energy from Waste plants.

One of the UK's leading Energy suppliers is looking to appoint an Electrical Generation Consultant to join their Electrical Control and Instrumentation team who provide technical expertise and project engineering support across the companies diverse portfolio of Power Generation assets.
The Electrical Control and Instrumentation team consists of around sixty Professional Engineers who provide technical support and guidance for a wide range of projects, spanning the likes of Renewable Energy, new build CCGT Power and Nuclear.
In addition to considerable Electrical expertise, you'll also need to understand Control Systems and have excellent managerial skills. A breadth of Power knowledge is important, and it would be great, but not essential, if you have Chartered Engineer status.
You will be responsible for managing the delivery of cost effective generator connections to Transmission and Distribution Networks, writing technical specifications, undertaking tender and design reviews and general project management of electrical works
To be successful in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in the following areas;-
- A thorough understanding of Electrical Power Plant.
- Liaison and Negotiation with Transmission and Distribution Network operators.
- Understanding on Grid and Distribution codes.
- Project Engineering, including Specification, Tender & Design reviews.

You will take on diverse responsibilities including the provision of technical advice to power stations, cogeneration plants, wind farms and nuclear power plant projects. ngineering Technician - Wind Energy (With extensive European travel)
£18-22k + Benefits
Fareham, Hampshire
We're looking for an Engineering Technician, who is confident both Mechanically and Electrically, to travel around Europe installing hi-tech products on Wind Farms. You'll probably spend most of your working week on Wind Farm sites around the UK and Europe, at height and in the turbines in confined spaces.
The role would possibly suit a Royal Navy Mechanic or Operator, a Motor Mechanic, Marine Engineer or Boat Builder, along with Installation Technicians or Field Service Engineers. It's likely that you'll have served an apprenticeship, and you'll also need to have a basic low voltage Electrical understanding of as part of this role will involve wiring electrics into control panels.
Able to follow installation procedures with customers looking on, you'll need to pass a medical and be happy climbing ladders and working at height. Well presented and safety conscious, you'll need a clean driving licence and have no passport issues which could affect you travelling abroad.
You'll need good hands on industry experience, most likely in a trade, and be able to demonstrate a good level of care in your work. You'll also need to be computer literate.
