Key Tasks:-

Role:
Conduct Supplier Audits and Assessments (Process and Product)
Conduct New Supplier Selection Assessments
Conduct FAI inspection activities at Supplier Sites
Manage Supplier Quality Metrics in line with company targets
Manage Supplier Quality Returns process with the aim to drive Root Cause and
corrective actions with the suppliers
Ensuring obsolescence and grey market procurement controls are adhered to within the
Supply base
Drive supplier quality management in line with AS EN 9100 requirements
Implement Supplier Quality Metrics and drive improvement plans with suppliers
Ensure best practice is adopted within the supply chain to ensure highest levels of
product integrity
Drive prioritised supplier non conformance management and root cause analysis
Ensure Quality Assurance for new and existing suppliers including audits, FAI and change
control process management
Ensure accurate flow down of Quality requirements to suppliers through all purchase
orders and or contracts

**this role could well be based from home for 3-4 days per week**

Key Objectives:

Ensure Procurement processes are in line with AS9100
Ensure Supplier approvals are up to date on company MRP System
Ensure Supplier Vendor rating metrics are in line with company targets

Experience and skills:

Experience of Bare Board manufacture is essential
Full understanding of PCB manufacturing process
Familiarity with auditing to ISO 9001:2008 and manufacturing processes
Experience in working to AS9102 for First Article Inspection reports, 8D problem solving,
IPC standards, ESD
Working knowledge of statistical control techniques, auditing to ISO9001 and process
improvements
Understanding of key aerospace Quality Standards such as AS EN 9100
Self starter with a desire for problem solving and process improvement
Working knowledge of six sigma/lean techniques and tools desirable

Main Duties
• To direct and control the staff of the department to ensure that they are appropriately trained, motivated and carry out their responsibilities to the required standard.
• Approves design to ensure the product can be manufactured and conducting manufacturing capability studies.
• Ensure that Manufacturing Data Packs / Standard Operating Procedures are in place for all Electrical Machines products & development to best practice standard.

• Work closely with the engineering design team to ensure that the all future designs can be manufactured in a controlled consistent manner in line with the manufacturing strategy of the company.
• By the champion of the Value Added & Value Engineering processes to collectively with engineering identify where improvements can be made in designs to ease the manufacturing and cost reduction.
• Advise the business on best practice for design for manufacture.
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure that TPS defines product that can manufactured in an efficient, controlled manner whilst meeting the required tolerances.
• Engage with both internal manufacturing functions and external partners to ensure that the best / most appropriate manufacturing processes are being implemented.
• Manage the interface between production and other departments to ensure all resources are available at the right time, cost and quantity to ensure smooth transition from the design phase into the manufacturing phase for new products.
• Work with the production manager introduce processes that generate measures and metrics that enable good control at the manufacturing process.

Qualifications
Essential: BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or a manufacturing related subject.

Practical Experience
Essential: Previous experience of introducing design for manufacturing principals into a business. A number of years of experienced within in a business related the manufacture of electrical machines / wound components, / high precision machining. Line management experience

Desirable: Previous production engineer experience in a high tech, low/medium volume environment
Skills & Competence Level
Essential: Lean Practitioner, Continuous Improvement practices

Desirable: Able to successfully define internal processes and work with the supply chain to deliver a electrical machine product of high specification, consistently

The Role

• The electronics design team currently consists of 7 design engineers and 2 technicians.

Skills and Experience

• Experience of the design of the electronic aspects of electro-mechanical products. This may include motorised system, motor control, sensor positioning, power supply design
• Educated to Degree level in Electronics or Physics (with Electronics bias)
• Experience in the design of digital electronic hardware.
• Understanding of EMC and CE compliance and qualification
• Experience in the fields of electronic hardware and micro-controller design.
• Demonstrable use of CAD circuit simulation techniques (Spice, Matlab, Mathcad)
• Understanding of digital signal processing (DSP) techniques
• Experience in the design of analogue electronic hardware including basic SMPS design
• Experience of writing technical specifications and documentation

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Service Engineer to join a Sales & Service Company based in Hampshire. Our offices are located in Southampton but our customers are located across the UK.

THE ROLE:
Under limited supervision the successful candidate performs a wide variety of technical support activities by installing, troubleshooting, maintaining and servicing printed circuit board production equipment at customer sites. Typically working on a variety of processes and high tech equipment, addressing electronic, electrical, mechanical and software problems. Helps develop and maintain relationships and favorable contacts with all our clients and principals. Helps ensure unparalleled client satisfaction through the delivery and maintenance of best-in-class professional services. The duties and responsibilities may change from time to time without notice and include but are not limited to the duties described below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides support to our customers by installing, calibrating, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting and repairing printed circuit board production equipment.
• Provides on-site technical and operator training courses for customer personnel in the operation and maintenance of systems and equipment.
• Supports customer via phone or person to identify operations/technical problems.
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses system/equipment interface problems.
• Conducts visits to customer sites to help determine requirements and needs.

EXPERIENCE:
Typically possesses more than five (5) years experience in field service environment with at least two (2) of which have been with a directly applicable industry and with a specific highly skilled knowledge of company’s products and equipment.

Excellent customer interface, presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written are required. A good knowledge of electronics / electrical is required, plus a knowledge of mechanical systems, familiarity with test equipment (DVM and oscilloscope) and experience with High Voltage equipment is preferred. A team player with ability to prioritise and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with minimal oversight. Must be available to travel around the UK and work any additional hour’s necessary, with the occasional over night stays, to satisfy the needs of the role.
