A Bromsgrove based firm that is a world trader in storage solutions, established over 50 years ago. The products range from simple shelving through to efficient office storage and filing. This role initially is a 12 - 14 month Maternity cover but offers a strong possibility to go permanant for the right person.
Detailed Responsibilities
Cost, quality, suitability, ability to supply and anticipated levels of service should all be key considerations for every supplier.
Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers ensuring you are professional and represent the business well at all times, both face to face, via the telephone or any written or electronic communication
Carry out the Create Purchase Order function each morning, midday and evening from Sage to determine what products are required to meet the orders, this will raise the appropriate purchase orders automatically.
Any requirements for bespoke items should be investigated and the procurement process begun.
Run the Bought to Order report and the Stock Report on Monday, Wednesday and Friday to identify current stock levels that are below the minimum stocking level. These reports will also identify items that have not had purchase orders raised against them. In both instances you are to manually raise a purchase order for the required product at the appropriate amount.
The reorder process for a stock item should not automatically be made at the previously ordered level. You are to consider the appropriate factors prior to placing any order at a particular quantity.
Send the order book to our suppliers each Monday outlining existing order requirements and obtain a response within 24 hours to determine if anticipated quantity and delivery times are correct.
Should delays be apparent advise Customer Services of a potential failure and endeavour to get this issue resolved or a satisfactory compromise reached
Run the Tight Late report Tuesday & Thursday to identify which items have not been delivered and identify where potential fails may occur. Liaise with Customer Services to discuss this and reach agreement on a resolution
